When GLC discovered Tesco had plans not to stock the album, with an abundance of swearing and such tactful titles as 'Your Mother's Got A Penis' presumably the motivation, the Newport crew decided to take action.
But when Tesco got wind of GLC's scheme to picket the Harlech Retail Park branch of their hometown, the supermarket giant did a 360 degree about turn and conceded defeat - apparently, you now will be able to pick up 'Greatest Hits' with your bananas, bread and copy of The Sun.
GLC are also bringing the rap to Cardiff this afternoon with a signing session and live PA in the city's Virgin Megastore.

Thanks for explaining that to me though I'm not convinced it's all that bad. Yes supermarkets only stock already big bands rather than supporting new music but surely that means that the new music is left to the independant shops, they've got their business there. Few smaller record shops stock all that much of the chart stuff anyway. The main people supermarkets take business from would be hmv and virgin and they take business from the nice independant shops anyway so I don't mind them suffering.
That's the way it seems to be anyway, though naturally I may be very wrong

Supermarkets drive down cost and as a result reduce the profits of the majors, who arrogantly save costs on thier A+R departments, whch gives smaller labels the advantage, so there.
