LastJAw - US hardcore heroes end it?

In disappointing, yet not unsurprising news, it appears that GlassJAw have split up.After intense speculation about trouble in the GJ camp things, it came to light last month that the band were playing a show on Boxing Day. But someone forgot to tell three of the members and decided to hire musicians instead. Todd Weinstock issued a statment about his departure but there has been little word from anywhere else. The aforesaid 'rent-a-show' has now been cancelled according to the band's official website. The time spent not telling band members they were 'sacked' has obviously been spent productively on redesigning the website. Althought there is no official word on the breakup, the 'RIP GlassJAw' on the website header and montage of dead musicians bearing the logo 'it wasn't their time' seems to be pretty conclusive.

shame. i love(d) GJ, and never got to see em play live cos the tours were always cancelled...-

Still, lets hope Head Automatica keep on -they're not that bad. -

Still got the tickets for the London show for the last cancelled tour... Was holding out for a miracle that they might actually make it here, I'm really pissed off now.
They really are/were an excellent band. -

they have NOT split up. Todd, Dave and Larry are no longer in the band but Beck and Daryl plan to continue with another as yes UNDECIDED band line up.
They have cancelled their december shows in NY to let Daryl rest. Just incase you didn't know, he has just undergone major intestinal surgery. SO stop the rumour mongering. THanks. -

Seeing as Beck and Daryl fucked over everyone else in the band I really wish they would just split up now. As much as I love them, and I've had tickets to 4 different appearances in London, I couldn't bear seeing Glassjaw songs played by mysterious session musicians with just Daryl and Beck.
Although I've just said that, I know my heart would overtake my brain if they were playing London. Which is kinda sad... -

Yeah I knew about these rumours before, it just seems as though all the rumourmongering has gone up a notch in the last few days. I agree that maybe they should call it a day, it wouldn't be the same, even though I would have loved to see them so much... -

I agree... That's a relief, even though they're getting rid of Todd, Larry and Dave... It won't be the same but then Glassjaw's always had a bit of a revolving door line up. It would be nice to see them tour the UK at SOME point though, but whether they'll make it or not... -

Ive been waiting to see GlassJaw for a while now too. I might just give up and see Head Automatica + The Used instead - I'd still love to see GlassJaw live though. -

I have to say, i wish it was certain what is going on with glassjaw. I've had tickets for their gig with Lost Prophets which they didn't play, and still have the original tickets from the tour in 2002 that they rescheduled. They probably are my favourite band but i don't think it would be the same without the todd, larry, dave line-up.
