Love don't live here anymore - Shack burns down

The Love Shack that surf-poppers the B-52s were once so fond of has burned down.

Well, probably: the band's Kate Pierson once lived in the 'shack', and 'Rock Lobster' was almost certainly written there. Chances are that the band's biggest-ever hit was penned the honour of the little cabin o'love just outside Athens, Georgia. Sure, it was hardly Graceland, but a little bit of pop history's gone and died all the same.

Authorities haven't yet ruled out arson, but DiS prefers to think that the flames of passion simply licked a little too high, and that was that...

  i thought this was a reference to the times arthur "love" lee played with shack as his backing band.
  but that wouldnt make much of a story, being many a year back.
