Artists: Dinosaur Jr

After their show on August 29 in Brooklyn NY, Dinosaur Jr became the latest in a growing list of bands to have their trailer broken into, with much of their gear taken.

The incident happened outside their hotel in Long Island while the band were sleeping, and they have urged the public to keep their eyes open for any of this missing gear in music shops, pawn shops and websites like eBay. If you think you've spotted any of the stolen gear, listed below, you can call Bart Dahl at (001) 212.777.0922 or Brian Schwartz (001) 303.998.0001. Alternatively, email bart@madison-house.com.

...

basicly, dont leave your gear in the van/trailer. Even if youve got shit loads of equipment, take the stuff people can carry easily and put it in the place your staying. or one of you sleep in the van.
theives are bastards though.

.

true that.

i remember Wayne Coyne saying once that even after the Lips signed to an indie, they were basically one van theft away from splitting up.

there really are some fucking harsh bastards around

on another hand, recommend me a Dinosaur Jr. album to start with

BUG

I guess. I don't own anything but that seems to be a good starting point - it's noisy though. Later stuff like Where You Been seems more melodic.

There must be some Dinosaur Jr fans on here willing to divulge some wisdom?

b.c. rich warlock?!

dinosaur jr. slaying the stage!

hehe

on the other hands that sucks.

i'm not impressed...

Dinosaur are full on legends. i love em. who ever done this should be shot.

Re: albums. My Favourite is 'your living all over me' but 'Bug' is also considered a classic. most of the albums are good maybe start with 'earbleedin country' (the 'hits' collection) and go from there.

ok well if i say

my favourite bands ever are Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth, Weezer and Pearl Jam, do you reckon Bug would be the right way to go?

yeah go for 'Bug'

but honestly the 'Bug' and 'you're living...' sound pretty similar, there isn't alot between them.

i can safely say that if you like those bands you mentioned and you can get into J Mascis's vocals which can be a bit whiny for some you'll like dinosaur.

i forgot to mention their 'bbc sessions' album which is also quite fab.

i got bug

and on the first few listens, i can say its fantastic

i'll get the other one next

cheers :)
