our gig tonight will be in tribute to the man anyway - it doesn't need a day, more like a week - turning on any alternative DJ anytime of the day makes you realise the huge loss to new and alternative music

Speaking as someone with a job to go to in the morning? (goddammit!) what time do the bands tend to be on at the Goldie Rocks night

Are the bands on early then DJs 'til 2 or are there bands throughout?

Blackwire + others at Brudenall Socail club, Hyde Park, Leeds.

All in aid of sound proofing the venue.

Brudenall Social Club is a tiny WMC in Leeds. It occassionally hosts bands in a comfy and unique atmosphere. In the past there's been performances from then tiny acts such as the Futureheads, Kaiser Chiefs and Jeffrey Lewis.

However, locals hate the amount of noise it makes on gig nights (even though there is a rigourously enforced 11pm curfew). the gig is in aid of keeping this as a place where small bands can play to an always aprreciative audience. It may not be a Carling Adademy, but that's why it's worth saving, isn't it?

The Junkyard Choir at the Buffalo Bar, Highbury!
