Secret name or Things we lost in the fire. Probably Things we lost... I reckon it's probably the most accessible, plus if Sunflower doesn't win you over, nothing will.
why people always say 'Things we lost in the fire'. It's really good but Secret Name and Trust are clearly better. Dinosaur Act is a poo poo of a song.
You can't go wrong though really. Just don't get either of the two new ones (great destroyer or drums & guns). They're both great but not really representative of Low.
Thank god somebody said it. If there is one album which defines what Low is about and that is the disturbing minimalism its the Curtain Hits the Cast. Plus every track from start to finish is a blinder. Especially Coat-tails. For an easy first listen then year Things We Lost in The Fire but for the bands finest moment Curtain Hits the Cast.
Off trust is their best song by a mile. Although it sounds better live stripped down to the bare minimum. Having said that I'd still get Secret Name, Long Division or Curtain Hits the Cast first.
Things We Lost In The Fire
I've read people compare them with
Red House Painters & Rollercoaster's one of the best album's ever ever ever. So I must look up Low.
Things We Lost in the Fire
If you like that, then probably best to go back and start at their debut I Could Live In Hope and work chronologically from there.
If you're like me, you'll wind up getting all the studio albums they've done eventually.
Things We Lost
or I Could Live In Hope
or Trust
I could live in hope
definitely !
loneliness in song form
Secret Name or Long Division for me
I also love The Great Destroyer but it seems to be a bit controversial among Low fans.
i heart the great destroyer
but things we lost in the fire is probably the best introduction. that or trust.
id say get the 3-CD boxset though
I reckon one of:
Secret name or Things we lost in the fire. Probably Things we lost... I reckon it's probably the most accessible, plus if Sunflower doesn't win you over, nothing will.
The answer is clearly
Things We Lost in the Fire.
Then Trust, in my opinion.
i don't get

Take that back about DInosaur act!
"You were the daughter, and your father flew airplanes..."
But
Do get the two newest ones eventually. As they're great.
Er...
"Clearly" not, given almost everyone else's advice. I'd say 'Things We Lost in the Fire' too, 'cos it's their best.
dinosaur act is amazing
I don't even know/care what they are singing about but their singing is so amazing, I love how their voices lock together.
Secret name
.
things we lost in the fire
and the song murderer from their new one. It will be my death bed regret that I sold my spitz tickets, dunno what I was thinking I love them now.
ummm
the curtain hits the cast, clearly
.

Trust shouldnt be missed either.
Little argument with myself
Off trust is their best song by a mile. Although it sounds better live stripped down to the bare minimum. Having said that I'd still get Secret Name, Long Division or Curtain Hits the Cast first.
