European music mix tape

I am just about to drive with friends from London to Romania (i.e loooong trip) so I thought I'd make a mix-tape of European (excl. UK/Irish) music.

The only requirements are that the band/artist is from mainland Europe, that they sing in their mother-tongue and that the song is kind of recent (i.e. not Joe Le Taxi)

I think Yelle and Tatu are the only non-English tracks on my ipod...

Any suggestions?

Harry Merry - Stevie Storm

So,

you've got a whole continent of music waiting to be discovered then?! Wow.
Do you mind if I completely ignore the rules and recommend two albums in English by American artists? There *is* a reason behind both...
Firstly, The Walkabouts - Train Leaves At Eight is an album of covers that is supposedly a tour of Europe: it begins with Mikis Theodorakis and ends with Neu!, via stuff like dEUS. Very nice.
And then, Ghost Mice - Europe is a musical narration of their own experiences hitch-hiking around, yes, Europe on a very limited budget.

Admittedly, both will be useless when it comes to making your mixtape, but... well, you've got a long journey, I'm sure you can listen to more than one album ;-)

anything by Camille

or Amadou et Mariam, for your French quotient.
