Jarvis Cocker and Beth Ditto’s collaborative cover of ‘Temptation’, first performed live by the pair at 2007’s NME Awards, is released as a single today, Monday February 18.

The Gossip singer and former Pulp man’s take on the Heaven 17 classic has been made available in aid of Shelter, via Rough Trade/Columbia. Coming a good year after its initial airing, of the single release Cocker has commented:

“It has taken a full twelve months for the world to be ready for this track – I hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed performing it.”

All proceeds from the much-demanded digital release (iTunes exclusive) go to Shelter, whose chief executive Adam Sampson commented:

“We are delighted that two of the hottest names in the music business are donating the profits from this single to us. By downloading ‘Temptation’ you’ll not only get a great track, but you’ll be raising money to help homeless and badly housed people across Britain.”

The song will also be available in video download format. Link? Here.

We're the first to run it.

That makes it exclusive.
At least for the limited period before other publications are able to run it.

It was on NME.com before I think

Has McNicholas been naughty again?

If it was up before us

Then has, some sneaky so-and-so has indeed played naughty.

Has?

I mean yes.

I quite like it,

everytime I hear Jarvis say 'temptation' it makes me think of Chris Langham staring at a young girl.

Fucking hell

She's a shouter!

why

would one pay £0.79p for a live video of them doing "temptation" at the nme awards, when you can just watch it on youtube for free?

oh

i just saw: "By downloading ‘Temptation’ you’ll not only get a great track, but you’ll be raising money to help homeless and badly housed people across Britain."

well...fuck the badly housed. maybe they should have housed themselves a bit better in the first place and not rely on me to bail them out.

(i'm a cunt. sorry)
