3 months later, the bulldozers go in and it's Barret Home tastic
before you know it the flood lights and white tents are up and you are wishing you didnt give that hair sample in order to prove your innocence in that library book case...
Basically, you should check with your local planning office before interring strangers
anyone else go last night? im a tad biaised as i've liked oliver's stuff a long time (check out Skywave and Ceremony if you haven't already)... but they were superb live. very loud, massive wall of sound. superb stuff.
the album is ace as well. i'll definitely pop along to the sonic cathedral gig at the social on monday as well. they'll do a craine on the venue there i suspect!
and want to see them, but they seem to have an obcession with playing in london and not much else, hence the SIX london shows they are playing and about 2 or 3 elsewere, and none near me :(
*** Sonic Cathedral is opening for worship in London and Nottingham for
shows with the incredible A Place To Bury Strangers. The details are
below. It's probably a good idea to bring some earplugs.
Monday May 12
The Social, Little Portland Street, London W1

Advance tickets: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/28836
were alright last night, shame about the sound probs though. a place to bury were ace again, anyone know who sang with them on the last song / what it was called?
This is a fucking great album.
Sounds like bauhaus/mbv/jamc. mega loud :)
Sounds like bauhaus/mbv/jamc
but just not as good...
^ this
I wanted to like it, but every time the vocals come in I'm all... sigh. Too much disco shuffle too.
i think it is pretty tops
the above criticisms are fair
but
but
compared to the hogwash that comes under the influenced-by-JAMC banner,
it is kinda spectacuarly awesome
Annnnnd it does have good tunes
annnnnd
bear in mind, it is not really a debut album
but a comp of early singles and demos and whatnot
and
you gotta be
a. impressed
b. keen to hear what they get up to in a studio
I heard that Black Acid this week
APTBS and Richard DIV and
and was it a Liars?
someone like that
kinda RoYAL TRUXY, it was, and a bit underwhelming
pleasingly dark tho
I have some London dates for them...
Fri 9 UK, London KOKO *Club NME
Mon 12 UK, London Legion *Sonic Cathedral
Tue 13 UK, London Madame Jo Jos *White Heat
fucking hell
club nme kids wont know what hit them, if they're as loud as people say
they are
definate ear plugs band - at the sxsw mohawk show during 'the ocean' 1/2 the crowd was full of people covering there ears or wedging tissue in them
awesome, bloody awesome
i saw them 3 times at sxsw, they were bloody superb everytime, insanely loud and oliver the guitarist sure knows to wreck a guitar.
.
Cool! Have you got links for tickets??
theres a nottingham date
on seetickets at The Bodega Social Club on the 20th may
guess they'll be announcing the rest soon-ish then
They're

I'm there
On intensive rotation
throughout last year's closing quarter.
I rate them highly.
Yaaaay
They're on my ATP must see list.
Glad to hear they're good live!
and here was me
hoping this would be a thread about inventive places to bury strangers in...
it's difficult, these days
A place seems like waste ground
shit is all quiet
3 months later, the bulldozers go in and it's Barret Home tastic
before you know it the flood lights and white tents are up and you are wishing you didnt give that hair sample in order to prove your innocence in that library book case...
Basically, you should check with your local planning office before interring strangers
to be safe
or just wait til it's BBQ season and season well
a place to bake strangers....that is easier
Mmmmmm...strangers
Just food you haven't met yet
Saw em supporting Radio Birdman with Awesome Color in NYC
Loudest gig ever.
Fucking great band.
they are primavera aren't they?
they sound like a bit of a knock off band but if there is a chance of bloody live ears then i'll give 'em a shot
Bad name
But the tunes are ace.
I think they should support MBV on their comeback gigs.
I like their record but
not as much as I feel I should if that makes sense.
Despite being 'the lodest band in NY' or whatever, Kind of feels like they're phoning it in....
That's right
the 'lodest'
DiS DJs at the Nottingham date
too...
http://drownedinsound.com/event/view/35367
...and what's with the capital 'K'?
in 'kind'?
Disgusting post all up
I'm going to the Sonic Cathedral gig now.
I guess I'll see some of you there.
blimey
anyone else go last night? im a tad biaised as i've liked oliver's stuff a long time (check out Skywave and Ceremony if you haven't already)... but they were superb live. very loud, massive wall of sound. superb stuff.

they were rather superb as usual. shall be at the social monday - cant wait
Just ordered the album

the album is ace as well. i'll definitely pop along to the sonic cathedral gig at the social on monday as well. they'll do a craine on the venue there i suspect!
fucking sick
White Heat with Senifinalists and Jay Reatard is going to be amazing.
skywave are lovely
do 'place to bury strangers play any skywave tracks?
hmm
i dont recall them playing any last night. that said, it was a wall of sound for the most part!
nope
.
i like this band
and want to see them, but they seem to have an obcession with playing in london and not much else, hence the SIX london shows they are playing and about 2 or 3 elsewere, and none near me :(

Looking forward to tonight
The Tamborines are ace too.
man,
, they've been amazing on this tour. I think I may be going deaf after seeing them four times this week though.
this isnt a tour
its a london residency (SIX london shows on the 'tour') with a couple extra thrown in here n ther haha bands dont knwo how to tour anymore
tamborines
were alright last night, shame about the sound probs though. a place to bury were ace again, anyone know who sang with them on the last song / what it was called?
Pretty good gig last night.
Tambourines were good, first band were rubbish, APTBS were fierce but like a lot of shoegazer/drone rock bands seemed to lose a lot of the melodies.
Last night was cool.
I fear for my hearing after seeing them five times in a week though.
Last London show tonight at Madame JoJo's with Semifinalists and Jay Reatard.
That was the drummer Jay's girlfriend Angie singing on the last track.
