I need to make my guitar sound better but I am afraid of all the schmucks who work on Denmark Street and mis-sell kit to kids who know less than them.
Does anyone know a good guitar shop in North London where the people aren't dicks and they know their stuff? I want to sort some new pickups and need some advice.
Cheers.
Cheers
I do setup
and wiring work on my own guitars and can do the same for you for less than Denmark St prices. Offer good pickup advice too.
PM me :-)

Don't be a twat. Some people on Denmark st may be officious and condescending, but they are all very knowledgable, and if you keep your part of the deal and do some cursory research on what it is you actually want, you'll find they take care of you as well as they do the many thousands of professional musicians that use their stores every day.

Also, those shops are for tourists anyway. Buy all your shit off ebay.
where is good?
I need to get my guitar sorted and made all new again.

I don't know, I've never used a Denmark Street shop... or indeed, any other store. My instruments are in tip-top condition.
All these places have either an in-house set-up guy, or a dude who comes in once a week, fixes a bunch of instruments and brings it back when he's next in. Quick phonecall?
I'll just choose the one with the best name
Graham Noden
in Denmark Street does really good work but he's not terribly cheap.

do it yourself.
there are plenty of tutorials on the internet, its pretty easy, you'll save money and its a useful skill to have. unless you want your guitar refretting or something, i wouldnt advise going to a shop.
www.wembleydrumcentre.com
used both their drum and guitar shops... very professional. ring them up and see what they say about prices
You could also try
John Henry's....they are good.
