that's great
sunday seems a bit weak.
sure there'd still be plenty to see tho.
anyone up for pelting the enemy with poo?
The lock up stage
on day one is amazing.
i'll
second that!
Pretty good line up I suppose
but there is no way I'd want to part with £160 for that
ditto
If that's true
then I'm saving myself £150 or however much it costs these days.
What the fuck's up with having dance tent on only one day? Surely it used to be on two?
the dance tent
is the lock up stage on the other two days, i think it's been like this for a good few years now.
i probably wont be going.
i saw his yesterday
but where did it come from? it seems realistic, but i want official proof, and for les savi fav to clash with bullit for my valentine not machine head...
Digitalism -> MSTRKRFT -> Justice
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ME! :D
happy brithday ME
No, ME.
^ i agree, the first day for the lock up stage
looks great.
it's tooooooooooo much money tho toooooooooo many mediocre bands
NO ME!
(is the sunday your actual birthday? maybe i'll bake you some cakes!)
nofx, goldfinger
pennywise, rage
my legs are gonna be sore!!
plain white
bastard Ts on the main stage?! fuck off
See also
soon to be covered in piss.
dont you dare!
i want to see them.
:(
is this official?
where from?the lock up stage looks amazing.well the friday anyway
grow the heck up you sad little twit
oops that was to Teecoveredinpee_uk
isnt this just another guess?
^
:O
:D
I like Metallica
Pretty good
But despite living in Reading I'd rather spend £160 seeing the 1/5 of the line up I like at their own headline gigs. Sunday doesn't interest me much at all, certainly for over 50 quid and most the stuff I like clashes on the previous two days.
Aren't there a couple of stages missing?
only the carling stage missing
and that had some pretty ace bands on last year.if this is official then i am happy.
carling stage
is the only stage worth going on at the end of the day. not looking too bad at the moment. fingers crosssed. my mate bought me an early bird ticket before i could say i didn't really want to go.
There's the
Unsigned stage at Leeds which is sometimes good to check out if there's nowt else worth watching.
Carling aren't sponsering it this year so I guess the 'Carling' stage will be called something else, if it's there at all!
there's only
about 3 bands i haven't seen and that i would want to see. really not worth the money! bestival yesplease.
queens of the stone age
above the fratellis and babyshambles?
hmmmm.
Why is there part of me that wants to see the Fratellis
get bottled/shot at?
I've no doubt...
... that placing the Fratellis before QOTSA will lead to the heaviest bottling in Reading history.
looks quite good to be honest
especially presuming there will be a lot of good stuff on the Carling Stage. Better than last year anyway and I had a pretty good time last year.
Always amusing dissecting the line-ups.
Who the hell are Plain White Ts?
Who the hell are Madina Lake?
Are The Fratellis the band that have that really annoying song?
I reckon The Fratellis and Babyshambles will get bottled by the dirty metallers.
PHUCK YEAH!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
remember that promise to see metallica over any act you'd be able to see in a club you made?
....
The Paddingtons?!
I DID not know they were still around.
awful
but though you swear that you are true
i'd still pick my friends over you!
awful
seriously bad
Utter bilge
The entire thing.
So much crap
But Queens of the Stone Age followed by RATM would be amazing.
You know Metallica would kill live as well. They don't do nothing by halves.
I won't be going though. I just hope Les Savy Fav in a tent is really shit.
^^^
Just like Foals should be in a tent, not on the main stage.
^this
i cant understand why they have put foals on the main stage
NOAHFX!!!!
MYRRHCHINEHEAD!
I can't help wondering
how Modest Mouse feel. Sold about 10 million albums, massive in the US, guitarist used to be in The Smiths, incredible back catalogue, indie-rock pioneers, can sell out the Royal Albert Hall...but can only play just above Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly and Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong at Reading.
i think the first half of that paragraph
would mean im not really arsed about reading festival
the latter are utter shite
poor modest mouse.
Looks gash
But I can see why Queens followed by Rage would appeal to loads. Already the thought of five thousand sweaty 16 year olds descending on the Dance Tent two minutes before Justice start is enough to make me vomit all over myself
It appeals to me.
Well, the 16 year old inside me. QOTSA have never once let me down live. And I reckon they'd be as good the 6th time as the 1st.
......THE BIZZLE!
theres alot of pap on this line-up but also alot of stuff i would LOVE to see.
im not too optimistic about the atmosphere/people there though.
it's aboy from 15 to 30 festival.
TROLLEY TROLLEY TROLLEY
urgh
I'm 16
And I can assure you that I will be flocking towards Justice. Stereotypes are gay.
still though
where did you find this?
his mum
I'm guessing from here...
http://www.drownedinsound.com/articles/3033854#r3078621
This is just a compilation
of loads of rumours and guesses on various other forums (namely Reading Festival Online and Efestivals).
It definately isn't the line-up. Although I'm sure many would feature this year, the stages/slots are complete guesswork (except perhaps the main stage headliners).
I know from Reading Fest forum geekery over the last 3 years that the Lock-Up isn't even booked till April at the least anyway.
way too ruin my mood :(
that lockup stage for friday looked/looks brilliant
Can't imagine QOTSA and Slipknot really that high up
Surely both peaked in terms of popularity sometime ago?
Tickets didn't exactly fly for Slipknot's comeback show at the Astoria a few years ago.
QOTSA sold out a 7 date UK tour in a matter of minutes.
They have a huge fanbase here.
so?
the fratellis sold out like five nights at brixton academy or something.
But I hate The Fratelli's and won't defend them
Plus Reading is a 'rock' festival supposedly.
Really?!
Bloody hell.
so did Hard Fi
and Bob Dylan
ouch
i dont agree
both are massive in the uk.i cant wait to see slipknot :D (if they do play that is)
i think slipknot will draw in more people
purely as they havent sold out brixton or whatever for a while. ive never seen them and am not a massive fan, but id watch them at reading
Here's hoping the carling stage pops up with a few good names
The rest looks pretty shit. Stupid me for buying an early bird ticket.
Loc Up: Friday & Dance: Sunday
both look great. The rest - 'meh', bar the occasional Slipknot / Les Savy Fav
I don't know if that is right though
as the dance stage is normally on a Saturday at reading.
RATM
Alphabeat
DIOY,Y?
Les Savy Fav (just to see what fuss is all about)
Tokyo Police Club (for that single)
Justice
then home
no. I shall give it a miss.
surely you like more bands then just them on the bill
surely?
i'd say the same really
+ modest mouse.
very impressed
pretty strong line up, shame the festival itself sucks balls
There's not one band
on that lineup that I'd be excited about seeing, having seen them either before, or just not bothered.
If I was 16 or obsessed with the NME i'd probably be wetting myself at the lineup. Far too much money too, I'd rather go on a week's holiday!
dont be daft
im not 16 or obsessed with the NME but i think its a good line up.you've seen RATM?
I was being flippant
but point taken. No I haven't seen them, but I'm not really as into them now I was when I was a bit younger. Still, I'd rather not pay $150 just for them.
^ i can kinda see what you mean
i like a few of the bands playing, but the only ones i've not seen before are MSTRKRFT, Poison The Well (who are both playing headline shows soon anyway) and Circa Survive (who i'm sure will play again)
yeahhhh i cant wait to see poison the well :D
its in a couple of weeks.8th of april i think.
Rage and the Cribs clashing
that would be horrible but its probably likely.
Les Savy Fav would no doubt make my weekend.
I do hope the kills, LC! and QOTSA do play.
PTW, London Barfly, 11th April
I'll be there. But i'll also be here.
It's okay...
but there's nothing there that gets me excited at all. Disappointing.
This has gotta be a joke?
Cos Alphabeat are on there.
That Friday Lock-Up stage is incredible
Not that i'll actually be able to SEE any of the bands, just hear them as a distant, muffled rumble.
lol
@ Pendulum
Who cares about the bands anyway
It's the drunken/come down conversations with groups of strangers at 3 in the morning that festivals are for
And also
Is it just me or do Editors play every festival ever?
^x100000000000000
:)
that was to the strangers bit
not editors.editors are ok.but strangers are better.i wish i would learn to reply in the right place.
You did
My Editors comment should probably have been in response to the original post
why the hell would you pay £150
just to have "drunken/come down conversations with groups of strangers at 3 in the morning"? You could go to your local park for that.
(checks profile, '16', oh).
because you get a lot of bands that you like in there as well
(checks profile, '16', oh).
erm what?
shes implying she is too grown up for that now
