Explosions in the Sky for me. 5 t-shirts, everything they've released on CD and 3 gigs.

Lady, I'm putting their kids through college.

:D

wow, really?

how many records have they put out in total? i only got the dj kicks, abd.&rec., mirror conspiracy and thievery hi-fi. have you seen any of their gigs?

Hahahahaha,

I'm sorry to say I haven't seen any of their gigs.

Probably ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead

or Sonic Youth- just through sheer volume of their back catalogue

Probably Interpol- 2 gigs, 1 festival,

1 t-shirt, 3 cd's.

Los Campesinos! probably

The bastards.

They probably

need all they can get to pay off Gareth's hairdressing bill.

Nah, he's aaalright.

Do you mean to pay for what he's had done so far

or to repair the damage?

80s Matchbox and Turbonegro

have taken hundreds of pounds off me.

Money well spent though.

^ eighties matchbox for me too

I've been to see them twenty times and own every 7" single they've released as well as obviously the albums. If they put the albums out on vinyl I'd buy them again.

Pfft, is that all?

I win. Because it's a competition.

money your daddy gave you

doesn't count.

Bloc Party

Seven t-shirts
five gigs
almost all CD releases.
Bloc Party condoms (yes)
must be more

probably adding up to something around 250 quids ish

Probably radiohead

about 4 of their pre-in rainbows albums (my dad had the rest already)
Big fuck off in rainbows box set
2 gigs
2 DVDs
posters etc off waste

I'm a loser.

Either

65daysofstatic (Seen live once, Own 2 of their albums and a Tshirt) or Flaming Lips (Seen live twice and own 5 of their albums)

The Cure

their back catalog (and working my way through the deluxe issues) got most of their vinyls, seen 'em 11 times

probably sonic youth

i've got all the studio albums, the live syr albums and a few eps on cd, im starting to get a few of the LPs as well, t-shirts, and i travelled down from leeds to see them play daydream nation in london last year as well.

fgdg

daydream nation was awesome live

prussian blue

.

BORIS boris

for sure
so prolific and everything they do sounds/looks amazing. i have 10 albums a 12" and a tshirt.

same

but 16 albums, a 10" and two t-shirts. This will probably propel itself skyward if ever I actually get to see them live.

Woah I was just about to start a similar thread

Radiohead probably. All their albums + discbox + ticket + some merchandise.

Alexisonfire

3 Albums
2 Singles
1 Overpriced gig ticket
2 t-shirts
many many posters.

Silver Mt. Zion

Got all the albums, and am going to London to see them at the Scala on the 8th. Will probably buy t-shirt's etc. and all.

Or Korn, because I used to be shit and buy all their t-shirts/hoodies, posters, beanies and a fucking voodoo doll teddy thing.

reuben

three albums, nearly all the singles, the dvd, three tshirts, 13 or 14 gigs, travelling expenses to london, glasgow and manchester for some of those shows

Patrick Wolf

3 albums

4 singles on all formats

7 gigs (including a journey to london from glasgow and a night in a youth hostel for one of them!)

1 T Shirt, 1 Hoodie and some badges

x x

British Sea Power

for all manner of reasons including the strangely random places i've seen them play.

probably

polyphonic spree- saw them about 20 times (including in Ireland and Scotland), robes, tshirts, and their albums and singles.

and then maybe the divine comedy and eels- owning all their albums and many singles, and lots of tshirts and a fair few gigs.

ed banger

yes i know its a record company not a band

but thats so many cd's, club nights, gigs etc

Hope of the States

25+ gigs
about a dozen t-shirts
and everything they released a few times over

SAD.

similar with 65dos

my friend's punk band

The Dangerous Aces (think your average shambolic local punk band)
We flew out to see them play in Derry last summer from Manchester. Snook in to the venue for free, but flight, hostel and eating and booze costs. Enjoyed it though.

Easily my biggest carbon footprint for a gig too.

i thought it would be bright eyes

since i have (almost) everything recorded and released under that moniker. but i think it's actually justin timberlake because of the expense of his concerts + t-shirts. mind you, i have seen bob dylan three times and bought t-shirts, and his concerts aren't cheap...

i dunno. one of them, anything.

Radiohead

them or Muse, or Art Brut.
I need to stop buying band t-shirts.

The Fall

12 albums, 5 gigs. I've had to stop on the album front its getting silly. However another 14-ish i think, someone will probably correct me, to complete the back catalogue.

15

that's studio albums

not including the stupid amount of live albums

I think I have 54 albums by the Fall

and still Mark E Smith is banging on all the time that he can't afford a mortgage.

R.E.M.

18 (ish) albums/greatest hits/dvds etc, 3 gigs (I've been to more by other artists, but they were cheaper...bloody £50 quid a pop for R.E.M.), a tshirt or two.

Ryan Adams has a lot of my £££ too.

Me too^

All albums, 2 dvds, couple of t-shirts, 3 gigs including a festival in Belgium mainly based on them playing there, and I'm probably going to buy tickets for that festival again based on them and radiohead playing. EWhen I had a bit of money I almost bought their re-released enhanced cds as well.

I don't want to even think about adding all that up. 2nd place the White stripes and they probably would be winning if they hadn't pulled out of their gigs last year as I had tickets for 3 of the shows.

Gorky's Zygotic Mynci

all singles/albums up until The Blue Trees, about 5-6 tshirts, and loads of gigs, although a lot of those were freebies.

Nine Inch Nails fo shizzle

7 albums (inc. Broken EP)
3 remix albums/EPs
2 singles
1 deluxe live album with EP
1 promo
1 dvd
1 t-shirt
1 gig (Leeds Festival though, but that's why I went)

It's a shit Nine Inch Nails collection though, can't call myself hardcore.

Maybe Pearl Jam and Isis for secondary money takers.

yeah nin

yeah nin for me too. i probably bought everything going and spent a few hundred going to see em. especially when you have to pay for the person going with you's ticket so that they will come along!

Mogwai I expect

Every release, 19 shows, travel to shows in London many times, dublin, and closer to home in Bristol. Maybe 5 shirts. Music box!

I'd be amazed if it was under a grand for that lot.

I would guess Nick Cave

Seen him live twice
Bought a T Shirt
Everything in his back-catalogue, including soundtracks, Grinderman, Birthday Party etc
Have been to see a couple of films just because he was involved.

Have you got the book?

Something to do with the Ass's milk or something - couldn't make head nor tail of it....

Hmmm...

I'd have to say it's between Mogwai or Unwound.

Pop Will Eat Itself

All the vinyl, then all the cds and seen 'em 47 times (plus t shirts etc)

Guided By Voices easily

17 albums, 15 EP's, 15 singles, 4 boxsets, 5 DVD's, 1 video, 2 books, plus countless bootleg DVD's, CD's, posters, badges etc.

And that's not even factoring in Bob Pollard's solo output (and Tobin Sprout's) which would treble that figure at least.

It's between Less Than Jake,

Rocket From The Crypt and Capdown really.

It'd be Biffy Clyro for me...

I've got all of their albums, singles (bar the two rare early releases), seen them live 15 times at various locations across the UK. Plus I have spent money on various merch items over the years.

Money well spent though, I never get bored with seeing Biffy play live.

black rebel motorcycle club

seen them live loads of times (in 3 different states, no less!)
i've bought 3 t-shirts, a sweatshirt, and a messenger bag
all of their albums on CD and vinyl
loads of singles

hi, my name is cherrycola and i have a BRMC problem!

As a lot of people

Sonic Youth, have all albums, all the SYR's, a few eps, all the deluxe edition releasese, 2 t-shirts, went to the atp mainly to see them, saw them play daydream nation gig in london, corporation ghost dvd. Also, made me listen to lots of ecstatic peace stuff...got a free kitten album and a lot of albums thurston moore has done by himself and other people.

after that, probably mogwai.

historically the smashing pumpkins

in recent years bright eyes

Devin Townsend

I started buying his music directly from him until eventually, I was getting signed letters saying "THANK YOU AGAIN SCOTT!" and postcards with his signature. Also Christmas cards.

Radiohead

It's got to the point where they could shit in a bag in front of me and I'd still pay for it.

The bag itself and the fee for being able to watch.

I sicken myself, but luckily they write great little ditties so its money well spent.

Muse.

Couple of extortionate gigs, all cds/dvds, took my nephew last year and that day out ended up costing me a couple of hundred quid (generally entertaining him).

Muse

2 gigs, 5 Albums, 3 DVDs, 1 Shirt, several bootleged b-side rarities.

probably 65daysofstatic

all the albums, all the unreleased/unlreleasables, hole EP, sorrow single, 'Then We Take Japan' import complilation, PLUS 3 t-shirts, hoodie and 10 gig tickets.

quick sum in my head makes that around £100 merch + £120 live = £220.

Thinking about it Muse are probably close, but thats just because their stuff is usually a lot more expensive. probably around £200 on them too (including tickets to see them at wembley last year, and tickets for me + my girlfriend to see them at the albert hall next month. ouch)

oxes

phwoar

65dos

definitely

system of a down

5 cds

Well i was mugged a few years ago

and I swear it was by a couple of fellows from Shed Seven.

So Shed Seven then

Possibly

80s Matchbox just for the sheer number of times I went to see them - it at least runs into the double digits, maybe 15 or so times? But the gigs were never that expensive, so maybe Neil Young. I have 16 albums on CD, 5 on vinyl, countless posters, a DVD and 3 t-shirts ( It definitely would have been NY if I had paid to get into his gig a few weeks ago)

That would be the Cure

Plenty of shows, plenty of full price CD's and T-shirts.

Got to keep Cap'n Bob in pies, eh?

radiohead

easily

No Doubt

5 Albums
2 DVDs
1 Collector's Box
2 Posters
1 T-Shirt
No Gigs :(

I guess that would have to be

the Manics. All singles and albums and a date on every tour since 1992, plus festival appearances...

Easily Radiohead

South Park '01
Shepherds Bush x 2 '03
Glasto '03
Earls Court '03
Blackpool '06
Victoria Park '08

Each album, japanese imports and £40 box. They are so worth it.

biffy clyro probably

mostly thanks to 30-40 ish gigs all over the country, including about 9 festivals {i didn't go specifically for them but it counts}

that's dedication

^ not a sly insult to Biffy's talent

but 30-40 Biffy gigs? Wow

The Fall

have got about a hundred quid off me. Let's Wrestle have had about £50 but thats not including the massive train fares to go and see them.

Bloc

Party

tshirt
pencilcase
poster (and the frame i bought)
seven gigs.

Muse

5 Albums
8 Singles
5 Gigs
3 T-Shirts
2 Posters
Guitar Tab Book
A Shoe that I lost crowd-surfing

Coheed and Cambria

3 t-shirts, a hoodie, about 7 gigs, 2 comics, and a graphic novel.

£170-odd.

The Mars Volta

1 trip to Sweden and a bunch of other gigs.

Guillemots

Everything theyve released on every format, apart from the compilation CD they released last year.
20+ gigs, mostly in London so loads of money gone on train fare too.
4 t-shirts.
A couple of badge set things.

Man! You're keen!

Love Guillemots......

Lupen Crook & The Murderbirds

Everything released on cd, and then some
4 gigs so far, the closest one was 3 hours away
4 t-shirts for myself plus a couple for others

Biffy Clyro

5 T-shirts
4 Albums
bout 20 singles (CD, DVD and 7")
5 Posters
9 gigs
plane fair to Glasgow

but...
sold two tickets for the blackened sky show at king tuts
made back £150
good or bad (profiting from a band?)

Oasis

all albums, a t shirt and 2 gigs

Royal Trux

Everything musical they've ever done
t shirts/badges, etc
tickets and travelling for bloody miles to see 'em (then they split up!!)

REM

14 CDs
couple of DVDs
3 gigs at £50 each
a t-shirt
postage for bootlegs when I was slightly obsessed circa 2005.

Super Furry Animals

All the albums (some in several formats), several t-shirts, upwards of 25 gigs all over the country, a snow globe, mugs etc etc..
