The Killers, Rage Against The Machine and Metallica are to headline this year’s Reading / Leeds shindig. Tickets for the festival, which takes place on 22-24th August, are on sale now, but expected to sell out very quickly.
Also joining them on the big stage are Bloc Party, Raconteurs, Editors, We Are Scientists, Dirty Pretty Things, Subways, Tenacious D, Slipknot, Feeder, Avenged Sevenfold, Dropkick Murphys, Queens of the Stone Age, Fratellis, The Enemy, Biffy Clyro, Serge Tankien, Get Cape. Wear Cape Fly, Anti Flag and Dizzee Rascal.
Also announced today are Radio 1 stage headliners Babyshambles, Manic Street Preachers and Cribs with back up by Foals, Wombats, Vampire Weekend, MGMT, Justice, Bullet For My Valentine, Conor Oberst and Pendulum.
More as we have it.
Earlier this evening (31st March) the official Reading festival website crashed, unable to take the strain of multiple eager gig-goers / ticket buyers.

ROFL
boooooooooooooo
fools
I'm not going, but I do feel inspired to comment on what
a totally shit line-up that is. Bring on Latitude
I was mention latitude
but I didn't...and I CONCURR!! Latitude will be the best. Just like last year... its got everything.
...was GOING to mention...
^ Latitude FTW
woooooooo
ooooooo
got mine last year..
RAGE! YAY!
When I first went in 1995........
weekend tickets were 60 quid. I think the booking fee was about 2.50.
Smashing Pumpkins, Hole, Green Day, Teenage Fanclub, Beck, dEUS, Bjork, Tricky, Neil Young, Soundgarden, Pavement, Mudhoney, Buffalo Tom, Blind Melon, Stereolab, Guided by Voices, Drugstore, Carter USM and Super Furry Animals played.
Things were better in the 90s.
word
i wish i was older back then
when i went in 1993
they were £45. no booking fee if you bought it in hmv
new order, rage against the machine, blur, radiohead, ned's atomic dustbin......
the stereolab and carter usm sets at reading 1995
were ace. fruity had to sit down, and jim bob spent the entire set slagging off neil young.
and the infamous foo fighters set on the melody maker stage. with that twat climbing the centre pole.
Conor Oberst?
All of a sudden, I really want to go...
For just him?
V
he's duetting with pendulum?
speculum.
I thought
the exact same thing
When I saw him solo at ULU
it was better than any Bright Eyes show I've seen.
Lame line up and a hassle getting tickets
We just spent about £500 on this!
post does not compute
.
RATM
:D
I've decided to
go see Springsteen, REM, MBV and Radiohead this summer instead of going to Reading. Been a few times (04, 05, 07) and considering I spent Sunday last year screaming at 16 year old's to stop throwing fire about (when I wanted a good nights sleep) It was clear it was time for me to draw a line under that.
All my friends at Uni are pretty much of similar state of mind, so luckily I had no-one to rope me into it.
Line-ups not horrific, but very safe from the organizers POV.
good decision
Serge Tankien?
You can't even cut and paste properly. And your attitude stinks. ROFL? Cunt.
maybe I didn't cut and paste then
my attitude?
LOL.
oh, cool, it was just a lack of knowledge or shitty research then
Yeah?
ROFL.
zzzzz
yes i agree
That IS an awesome line-up.
Almost exactly the same as last year then?
Pile of shite. Go to the Great Escape intead, less cunts, better bands, not a shithole.
A poor line up
for so much money
Has anyone seen the video of 'Amy the Indie' on BBC's Switch? It'll be a crowd filled with people like that
w r o n g
The headliners are good
But on the whole, that is a really uninspiring line up. I'm disappointed because usually Reading put on a bloody good show, but it's so poorly booked.
Who put Bullet For My Valentine in the middle of Foals, Justice and the Manics?
What will really get people in the mood for Rage and QOTSA? I know, The Enemy and The Fratellis?
My god
that's a shit line-up
honestly
they seem to use almost exactly the same line up every year.
i creamed myself
when i saw Metallica, Slipknot and Tenacious D
Unfortunately i couldn't get tix =(
hurmm
i've been to reading for the last 3 years but decided i didnt want to go this year
the line up looks okay but most have played there within the last 3 years, a couple multiple times
i normally go for the smaller stages, but every year i find the festival more and more of a fashion show and people seem to be even more unfriendly.. meh
