The Magnetic Fields have announced a brace of UK dates – their first for four years.
Stephin Merritt will bring his band to Cadogan Hall in London on the 9th and 10th of July, while more dates are expected to be confirmed here tomorrow.
Expect songs from the most recent Magnetic Fields release, Distortion, (review). Tickets cost £22.50 and go on sale from LiveNation.co.uk this Saturday, the 12th of April.
In other Merritt news, Merritt was recently challenged to write and record a new song in two days by NPR Music - he succeeded and the result is the sublime 'The Man of a Million Faces'. Hear it at NPR's website, here.

Great news!
Can't wait to see them.
That man of a million faces report on how the song was made
Is really good! I expected it to be something strained and unnatural when clicking the link, but it's really well done and shows how good Stephin Merritt is without appearing patronising to what he does.
Excellent.
