Firstly he wouldn't want people to know what he looks like and secondly it would probably be impossible to actually play his tunes live considering how they're produced, i.e. without a sequencer.
... is actually a skinny jeaned white kid in glasses and a floppy fringe who listens to Modest Mouse and Okkervil River a lot.
If his real identity got out the STREETZ would disown him and pop a cap in his pasty ass.
I missed that, I might have to try find that out, have you got a link..... or do I want to keep him anon hmmmm? No I don't yes mmmm no! It wo0uld be cool if he DJ'ed on the side and just kept his Burial stuff secret.
would be pretty cool in the right setting, with maybe some projection, in a disused warehouse or a old train shed. I would also want a BBQ or freshly made curry.... ooo and a fire.
obscure dubstep producers real name jokes I don't think. I had simular results when trying to argue with people that Jeff Mills was better than Heather Mills.
I dont think he would do it live. But I would love to see him continue in music even if it wasn't Burial stuff. I'm more than happy with the 2 Burial albums.
I think he's obviously a talented enough producer to explore new directions. I'd be really interested to hear the 'techy' album he decided not to release. And there's loads of unreleased bits on that Kode 9 preview mix thingy that sound amazing and really different to untrue.
Also that tune 'Unite' that he made in reason is really very nice so I'd like to hear a whole album of his with sequenced drums, it's sound totally different to the other two.
I didn't know there is an album he didnt wana release. I wouldn't mind hearing that 'Unite' track as well, sounds interesting. I agree he has loadsa tallnt and promise for the future.
Don't be silly.

I dont think so no
I dont think that many people know who it is acctualy behind the music. thats what I've read in interveiws anyway.
the independent
exposed him a couple of months ago, didn't they?
ah i had no idea
he was a banskey-esque mystery man
Burial...

is it actually a giant squid with varacose veins?
really?

..
YIP. Called William Bevan.
fail
ever been on www.williambevan.co.uk
More than a coincidence?
nope.
anonymity and all.
plus it'd just be him playing cds
and twiddling the eq as if it was his job or something.
i heard it was
thom yorke, now wouldnt that be amusing!
a good DJ set with added sampler stuff
would be pretty cool in the right setting, with maybe some projection, in a disused warehouse or a old train shed. I would also want a BBQ or freshly made curry.... ooo and a fire.
"him being exposed in the independent"
The Independent named him as William Bevan.
Coincidentally...
http://www.williambevan.co.uk/
I can't believe
nobody else found that link incredibly humourous... Burial? A funeral director, anyone?
oh yeah there isn't enough
obscure dubstep producers real name jokes I don't think. I had simular results when trying to argue with people that Jeff Mills was better than Heather Mills.
me and you, kid
'gainst the world.
*manly embrase*
(like we are on a war torn battle feild)
were you to learn to spell
it could have been so, so much more
I suck at that
I hear
He said he would never do it live and won't do another album. He doesn't know what the fuss is about and all that...
I hope this aint true
or at least he just makes up another name and does other stuff that would be cool.
I don't think it'd be a bad thing if he jacked it in now
Two Burial albums is enough. And him doing live shows would probably ruin the magic of Burial's music.
I guess....
I dont think he would do it live. But I would love to see him continue in music even if it wasn't Burial stuff. I'm more than happy with the 2 Burial albums.
I don't know.

Yeah that Kode 9 mix is sweet
I didn't know there is an album he didnt wana release. I wouldn't mind hearing that 'Unite' track as well, sounds interesting. I agree he has loadsa tallnt and promise for the future.
Found it on myspace
Its nice
I don't get the fuss
Sounds like a dated 90's 'dance' lp to me. Burial sounds nothing like the kind of Dubstep I hear in the clubs.
nope he has made somat of his own I think
I'm not very well informd on the stuff they play in clubs mind. I can't find a dubstep scene in north yorkshire. Have you got any good recomendations?
I 'got' archangel pretty quickly
But the rest of it... still nothing :-/
arse
please imagine this post is actually below the next post...
It's not really my thing...
My older brother said to me about the Burial records: "It would take you about 5 years to get in to".
Condescending but probably true. You have to 'get' that kind of thing.
nah
I think some of it is pretty direct. Ignore him!
He was half cut when he said it...
I couldn't help but laugh.
Cheers.
Well thats the point with dubstep innit.
Its just 140bpm electronic music with heavy bass, other than that anything else goes.
Something like Spongebob by Coki sounds totally different to Roll with the Punchs by Peverelist but they're both resolutley dubstep tunes.
just to let you know
i am actually Burial.
It's me.
AND NO, I DON'T PLAY LIVE.
not even £50
for a new cross inn show?
new cross inn?
good venue, but not if it is for those 'no pain in pop' jokers.
: )
