JAG warning! Lazily copied and pasted from www.bsmrocks.com...

Big Scary Monsters Records is 50 releases old! No, we didn't see it coming either. Over the past 7 years we've put out many many releases from more wonderful bands than I can count on an army of toes. There have been great moments and there have been even better moments, and so it seemed only fitting that we celebrate the half-century with something a little special.

50 Not Out is a compilation CD of 50 MP3s featuring past, present and future BSM associates, along with many of our favourite others. So that's music from the likes of Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Maps And Atlases, Tubelord, This Town Needs Guns, Jeniferever, Jonah Matranga, Rolo Tomassi, Jonquil, Secondsmile, Copy Haho, Sam Isaac, Tera Melos, Hush The Many, Data.Select.Party, Meet Me In St Louis and a lot more! The full tracklisting is right here: http://www.bsmrocks.com/shop_50notout.html

The CD is being given away for free with all purchases from http://www.bsmrocks.com or you can buy it for the princely sum of just £4 via the same link.

But wait... There's more! If you join up to our Friend Of The Family (http://www.bsmrocks.com/friend) mini-site you can pick the CD up for just £3 and also have access to 10 free MP3 downloads of tracks from the CD. Check it out.

So that's it. Fifty bloody releases! Thanks to everyone for playing a bigger part than you probably realise in helping us reach this milestone. Here's to the next 50.

Some absolutely brilliant stuff on that

When is the Pennines/TTNG split thing out? Will this still be running when that is out?

Thanks

The split will be out in August. We only have 1000 copies of this CD so I wouldn't have thought we'll still have any come then. I think they'll go fairly quickly

In that case

I'll have a mosey through the shop and see if there is owt I want that I don't already have and failing that, I'll just order it.

Cool, cheers

By the way, did you get hold of the Pennines MP3s? I seem to remember you posted on here asking for someone to send you links or something? One of the tracks is up at www.bsmrocks.com/friend now and I can email you the other if you like? The Myspace download links sometimes play up

No I never did

And I've just downloaded 'Open Closed Open' from the Friend website! If you could e-mail me the other mp3 that would be great (daniel__kelly@hotmail.com, its two underscores which confuses people).

Expect a cheque for the Anathallo vinyl in the next few days!

Excellent choice

MP3 on it's way in a moment.

If anyone else also wants the Pennines tracks by the way, just email me - bsmrocks@googlemail.com

good work

would have been nice to have a different MMISL track though, seeing as hasselhoff is on the xtra mile/bsm compilation too!

i'll buy it in a bit.

<3 BSM.

the TTNG track is the same too :D

needs moar '26...' ;)

I know what you mean

Would've been nice to get something different but it's my favourite track and we don't want to go giving away too much of the record for free if we can help it

fair enough

it seems to be everyone's favourite track and your point is a good one. everyone should own a copy of 'variations on swing' anyway :D

TNAS!

!

Yep

I figured it was about time people were reminded about them! 'Sleep' even makes a little appearance on the website intro animation: www.bsmrocks.com

Copy Haho are also on the CD. TNAS and Copy Haho in one place is pretty much a dream come true in my eyes

man, that band were awesome.

but i only have the ep with jeniferever. i used to have some other mp3s by them but they got lost which is upsetting.

:(.

the

TNAS?

correct

Happy 50th BSM!

<3 I might come and buy this soon it looks good.

This would be a good point to say

well done. What a list of bands!

Thanks

And I've just noticed that the subject header for this thread on the forum kinda looks like it says "Big Scary Monsters Records goth release" - that would be a completely different kettle of fish

I've just gone and bought the Tubelord viynal

and look forward to getting the 50 jobby too..... and you say in ya blog it wont play on my stereo but for some freaky reason my stereo can play mp3s off cds maddness hay.

I'm well out of touch with technology

but I had a feeling some stereos might play it. I think some car stereos play MP3s these days don't they?

You've just got yourself one of the last copies of the Tubelord vinyl. There are about 40 left un-sold in the world right now.

brilliant

thank you very much. I had no idea tht stereos could do it either until I got this one home and wondered what the random stickers are all about sat=yin MP3.

awesome

I've been meaning to buy that TTNG/Cats split for a while so now seems like a good time.

^I did this exact thing

It's an opportunity not to be missed!

Thanks

to everyone who has bought the CD or sent us nice messages so far, it means a lot :-)

BSM

really does rock.

Ace!

I shall be ordering some stuff tonight.

Them's are crazy prices!

So I get it free, even if i order a single that costs less than £4?

Yep

Crazy, hey?

i genuinely

read the title as BSM Records Goth release!

I am now bitterly disappointed.

Ooops

I owe BSM a cheque. I'm going to give you an extra 32p though seeing as you under-charged me for postage on the Yndi vinyl. That will make the wait worth it, right?

Haha

Don't worry about the extra 32p, it's fine. Although those buggers at Royal Mail have put the price of stamps up AGAIN! It's getting silly now
