lots and lots and lots of stuff.

http://www.play.com/HOME/HOME/6-/Campaign.html?campaign=4808&cid=9118608

i'm just looking at A but i've already found Trail of Dead, Air, Adam Green, lots more, it seems quite varied.

anyone find anything good / got any recommendations in the other twenty five letters?

this is actually brilliant

since found: billy bragg, nick drake, blood brothers, cLOUDDEAD, cocteau twins, best fwends, bell orchestre, the auteurs, architecture in helsinki, brakes..

my credit card is going to get hammered :D

You can make a killing

on sonic youth albums! Dirty and Goo for £2.99. I should write dfs adverts

this one is better!

http://www.play.com/Music/CD/3-/154427/2-/Promo.html?ob=price&cpage=1

everything 2.99 and loads of rareish stuff for an online sale...whiskeytown, ryan adams, sonic youth, big star, anthrax, andrew wk :D

gah

i'm at work now and play is blocked here for no specified reason. thanks, tho!

also

have you got that reissue of Strangers Almanac yet?

hannah got it but i havent

listened to it yet

^

don't be daft

XO and Figure 8

are both on sale for £2.99

ughhhh

dammit daniel, i just bought 13 CDs :(

brilliant!

what did you order?

like four neil young cds

a j mascis live at cbgb's thing, clouddead (which i've never owned on cd), raekwon, best fwends, andrew wk :D and a talking heads one. i might have missed some out but that's the crux of it. i might go back and get alligator on cd which i don't have.

Looking through all of these

Just makes me think how many piss-poor album covers there are.

I've already got 6 albums and I'm yet to have a look at that 2.99 sale one... argh.

Oh Christ

look at all those Neil Young albums...

12 CDs...

:(

.

Sigur Ros albums are all £5, and The National's Alligator is £5.

Am tempted by Clouddead albums.

:D

i don't properly have alligator! brilliant.

i'm going to get a clouddead one as well, someone tell me which one is better.

yeah

clouddead opinions for me too please.

I bought one about four or five years ago, but I returned it due to not being entirely sure/very poor. Can't remember which one it was though.

Oh, and three Eel's albums are £2.99. and dEUS for £5 and less.

Ten is better

s/t is brilliant, but it's not a proper album, and feels it.

However - I'd go for both.

ah

you are a fool, the s/t is definitely the one to get... trust me i'm a dose one head

you twat

Ten's perfect.
And I did say get both.

"trust me i'm a dose one head" - no, you're a knob head.

Niiiice

Treasure, Murmur and Dirty for me :)

There's some Miles Davis live stuff in the £2.99 section

which is better: Live in Berlin, Live in Europe or Live in Tokyo?

They're all quite similar

Recorded around the same time, same band, similar setlist, just different saxophonists.
If you don't have much Miles, Live in Berlin is probably the definitive one as that's the first recording with Wayne Shorter (who stayed with the band for a while). I quite like Live in Tokyo, as the saxophonist (Sam Rivers) is much freer than normal for Davis' band, so it has a bit of an unusual sound.

I'm not going to click on that.

I'm not going to click on that.
I'm not going to click on that.
I'm not going to click on that.
I'm not going to click on that.

*tells self he doesn't need anymore cds.*

CHRIST

this is good.

which is best of THESE graham coxon albums:
the sky is too high, kiss of morning or crow sit on blood tree?

uh

i have the first and third of those. the first is really patchy and quite scrappy, the last is a fun basement folk record made by a drunk. i like it but i don't play it often.

cool

thank you! still think all i can stretch to is the first cLOUDDEAD album and "pneumonia" though...

whiskeytown?

yes!

belated reply, cos i went out to buy spiced cider.

good work

'jacksonville skyline' is probably the best song adams has ever written. it's a musical crime that it was buried away like it was :(

crow sit

is incredible. golden d is better tho

crikey!

i can't be taking a pay cut and a tax rise when this is happening

in the last minute i've uncovered...

£5 - Adam Green Gemstones, Best of the Divine Comedy, Brick dvd

£2.99 - Eels Electro-Shock Blues

w00t

all these £2.99

Screaming Fields of Sonic Love - Sonic Youth

Illadeplh Half Life - The Roots

Licensed To Ill - Beastie Boys (why I don't own this, I'm not quite sure...)

Portishead - Portishead

Also worth noting that all Public Enemy stuff (well, all the good stuff anyway, is at £2.99)

Nick Cave question

Let Love In vs Tender Prey? Both £3.99, but I cam only going to get one (so I can get fear of a black planet)

get both

round here you can't even get a return bus ticket for £3.99!!

Saul Williams S/T is a fiver

pretty good album, all told.

PYSCHIC HEARTS FOR £5!

Oh wow. Buy Buy Buy. Fuck my overdraft.

:D

please keep them coming.

woop

Goo and Dirty for me and Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band. Thanks for the heads up!

dirty> goo

so much
CAN YOU FORGIVE THE BOY WHO, SHOT YOU IN THE HEAD?!

daydream nation>dirty

I want that on vinyl SO much

I like Daydream Nation

but the top 3 SY records are quite clearly:

1) Dirty
2) Nurse
3) EVOL

i disagree

i don't really like dirty very much. i only have about half of their back cat but i think my top three are:

1) daydream
2) confusion is sex
3) EVOL

thnx

Whoo, glad I made the right choice then

I'm so poor that I could only afford one 2.99 album, and I went with Dirty over Goo.

boner city!

i can nearly complete my sonic youth collection, get stroszek on proper dvd AND wayne's world 1&2 all at once!

Party time!

amazing

two elliot smith records, whiskeytown, scott walker and portishead for 14.95! ace!

THANK YOU FOR BURNING MY QUICHE

I just bought:
*Entroducing...
*Heim/Hvarf
*Picaresque
*Axis: Bold as Love

I want to buy more but I shouldn't.

Endtroducing made me happy

but then you went and spoiled it all by getting Sigur Ros and Decembrists.

One of them is gay

so be careful what you ask for

PICARESQUE!

brilliant! i've wanted that on CD for ages.

I just bought it.

You better be right

If you have a heart

this record will break it.

Surely that's worth 3.99 of anyone's money.

Oh God

Good shout.

Sparklehorse

Vivadixie.... is £5

Thank god I've already checked out. This could have been very dangerous.

Oh man...

Liquid Swords, only £2.99!

and 36 Chambers for a £5

add Only Built For Cuban Linx for £5 too, and you've got yourself a 'best of wu tang' for under £15

so, who spent the most?

i spent 55 quid :\

£60

ish, I think.

15 quid, 5 cds

I'm a regular bargain hunter.

£30 on 8 CDs

My overdraft may hate me, but at least it persuaded me to pay for some music, for once ;)

don't worry

i'm predicting at least £100 for me...

I'm goin' back in.

Funkadelic- Maggot Brain for £5
And P Funk Earth Tour for £2.99

I also.

*Full Moon Fever (Tom Petty)
*Talkie Walkie (Air)
*Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place (EitS)

You should add

Ragged Glory- Neil Young & Crazy Horse to that for £3.99. And Fear Of A Black Planet by Public Enemy for £2.99.

sunna - one minute silence

what a bargain !!

Okay I'll get Public Enemy

but I can't afford anything else!

have you already got It Takes a Nation of Millions

if not, get that instead. It's a stone cold classic.

I'd buy Ragged Glory over it though. Any day.

I bought both.

DAMN MY MUSIC BUYING EMBARGO

HELP! Elvis Costello

Which album? I really only want one to start with:

Brutal Youth

Kojak Variety
Mighty Like A Rose
The Juliet Letters

Thanks!

This thread has been awesome

It's made me put on Ragged Glory and Maggot Brain.
