they're easily one of the best 'big' UK bands around at the moment. I think they get chastised for the fact that NME sang their praises around this time last year and so indier-than-thou types lump them in with The Kooks, Pigeon Detectives, et al.
Colour It In's a great album and they're one of the most thrilling live acts I've seen in the past couple of years. Whatever happens to them as a band I'm sure Orlando will be around as a singer/songwriter for a long time to come.
Really impressed again, such a good live band! Wasn't sure what to make of the new songs they played, they sounded fairly similar to the tracks on Colour It In, which is no bad thing I suppose. Looking forward to hearing the recorded versions.
Not really
maybe a bit cleaner and more 'traditional' on record but they are still one of the best 'popular' bands in this country by a mile.
Macs
Yeah I love them and cant wait to see them again :D
Loads of people have said that
but I just don't see it myself. Diiferent strokes and all that...
harru likes them.
i really like them
maccabees
They sound incredible live. The lead singers voice sounds almost as good as it does on record.
Colour It In was one of my favourite albums of last year - there's such a lack of decent "big" bands who are actually credible.
Love 'em.
yeah
i thought the album sounded abit week, still good though.
They where sick at reading festival last year!
Don't think much of them for either
Can't understand how they got into the top 50 albums of last year. Thought the album was average to poor.
if i enter a room playing the maccabees
my initial instinct is to leave.
they're alright
7/10 band, maybe 8 sometimes.
I really live them
Great on record, great live. In fact I'm going to listen to them right now!
And of course by 'I really live them'
I mean I really LIKE them. My brain apologises.
I've enjoyed a couple of songs I've heard.
Particularly Toothpaste kisses and First love.
I think they're great all told
Saw them at the roundhouse
last year and they were(are) great live indeed...
I was listening to this album today actually
it's not bad definately a 7/8

I seen them last Saturday in Liverpool
Really impressed again, such a good live band! Wasn't sure what to make of the new songs they played, they sounded fairly similar to the tracks on Colour It In, which is no bad thing I suppose. Looking forward to hearing the recorded versions.
