Actually, GTA IV isn't *that* good.

I need to let of some steam.

Controls are shit. The aiming thing is awful, the cover mechanism is like trying to eat a burger with your feet, and the car control while okay in some is horrible in most.

The missions are pretty boring. Too many characters I have no idea abut and most of the time I ust want to shoot them. The animaton and dialogue is great but FUCK does it drag, and then I have no idea what the hell I am supposed to do. Also, right back at the beigining? FUCK OFF! Come on, I thought we got past that years ago - give me check points if the mission is in fucking Algonquin and I am in Bohan. Give me a break!

The multiplayer is good but I want to play with my mate and that is almost impossible. The game never lets me put my mates into a game I have made. I have no idea why.

Graphics great. Presentation great. Concept great. Gameplay needs fixing...

Am I just shite at it?

I've played it for about an hour or so

I couldn't really discern much difference between it and the GTA 3s (which i didnt really like). and the dodge, punch thing was useless. as are the camera angles when walking.

I wasn't too hooked.

The multiplayer I thought was almost worthy of awe. It is everything I imagine game paradise to be.

But it could become boring quick I think. I mean quick as in maybe a month or two.

Story though... It seems like they've lost what makes GTA special - their tongue-in-cheek comedic take on stuff. They've thought 'LET'S MAKE A HUGE EPIC' and tried to make it authentic and cool and respectable. Its what let San Andreas down too.

There are funny bits on the radio etc., but I think it takes itself too seriously now.

i really disagree man

it's the funniest one yet. the script is fantastic :D

I can't really judge fairly.

I have to admit, I only played about forty five minutes of the story. And watching the cut scene at the start, I just didn't feel the vibe.

Tommy Vercetti and Ken Rosenberg and Kent Paul and all those lot. They were GREAT characters. These Russians suck ass.

I was playing it at my friend's

and the first hour was great. I was in a fit of laughter after I crashed the car for the first time and i was all like Brrrrrrrrr brrrrrrrrroom broom-broom! But after a while the novelty seemed to wear. i wasn't doing any missions to be honest though.

is it not just the same

as all the others in a new setting with fancier graphics?

the gameplay was always a bit naff to get used to ever since it went 3D

my friend completed it in 29 hours

then proceeded to tell me about the ending in great detail. i pretty much want to marry him now just because of this fact. and you probably are just shit at it.

this thread is stupid

everyone's commenting on the 'game' after playing it for an hour!
