awful message about how the cheerful idiot will always sail through life as long as he does what he's told and tries real, real hard. Smugly hopping through a picture-book American history, parts of it bring about an actual physical reaction of frustration.
Sorry.
I understand the whole idiot makes good, liberal rebel gets raped, gets AIDs, dies, but you know, Sally Field dying! Bubba dying! Jenny dying! Tears! TEARS! TEARS! NIXON!
with a really really scary subtext:
stupidity, war and conservatism will always be rewarded while anyone who rebels against the system will suffer and die.
not as 'lovely' as i'd first thought.
I guess I may be a bit biased since it contains music that makes me almost literally start shivering. And when music I like is in films, wow, I love it. Dunno why.
Cartman says it best: "Tom Hanks can't act his way out of a nut-sack"
good arguement
my intention wasn't to argue:
you like what you like, i like what i like. I'd only slag someone for watching something like Bratz or The Hottie & The Nottie (if they're >13)
i wasn't being sarcastic!
still a good film tho
classic
except
all boxes chocolates come with a list and a picture so you do know what you're going to get.
^
the manufacturers learnt their lesson
the film highlighted a major flaw in the choclate box industry
COURS, FORREST! COURS!
Hate it

BRILLIANT!
I actually really like it.
i think i might've cried
watching it one time...
Mega- gash
don't
i think i might well up again!
They're making a sequel
My eye twitches.
Nah
Tom Hanks and his one man against adversity films (that's all of them by the way) can do one.
i like it, i think it's good
engaging, funny, enjoyable etc. quite a journey. though i can very much see why cynical people don't like it.
yes I agree
I understand the whole idiot makes good, liberal rebel gets raped, gets AIDs, dies, but you know, Sally Field dying! Bubba dying! Jenny dying! Tears! TEARS! TEARS! NIXON!
Was he actually meant to be
a bit beshel?
Like Sean Penn in "I am Sam" or David Schwimmer in Friends
Can't much remember it
but I think I recall it being quite patronising.
really entertaining film...
with a really really scary subtext:
stupidity, war and conservatism will always be rewarded while anyone who rebels against the system will suffer and die.
not as 'lovely' as i'd first thought.
surely its more to do with being a good person
and doing your best?
addmittedly a bit gay but yknow.
as a person?
He's a bit spastic isn't he.
see: neecho's answer
I enjoy it, but it is so easily dislikeable.
I guess I may be a bit biased since it contains music that makes me almost literally start shivering. And when music I like is in films, wow, I love it. Dunno why.
It's an ok film with a scary amount of product placement in it.
The fact that it won Oscars shows the Academy Awards up for the crock of shite that they are.
