The best songs to have as a Ringtone?

So, whats the best?

It obviously needs to kick in right at the start to have the effect of a ringtone that you can actually hear.

I propose "Gareth Brown Says", with the immortal lines, "All your friends are cunts" etc.

I can imagine it on the bus now.
Amazing.

Mine is No Surprises

purely to avoid funny looks on the bus.

.

I might whack some Converge on actually, could be quite entertaining.

Alice

Practice

courtship

dating
works
well
too

All good and funny

until it goes off in front of your boss, then you feel like a bit of an idiot. A much better idea is to put that as someone else's.

Personally I have Le tigre - Deceptacon. Obscure enough for me to recognise it as mine and fairly loud and upbeat as well.

Lords Of The String

by The Power Lords - see Youtube

Anyone that has an actual song as their ringtone

is a fucking absolute bell end.

kurt angles'

old wwe theme music.

_

anger issues eh?

crazy frog

duh

I have

Strange Fruit.

'Tis awesome, but not really ringtoneworthy

how can you cope

with being reminded of the subject matter of the song every time your phone rings?
you should never be weeping when your mum calls y'know.

My mother

was a black woman in 1950's America.

It seemed appropriate somehow.

The Bond theme

that way you can look like a secret agent when you're sat on the bus in your suit & shades and it goes off.

That, or Eye Of The Tiger. Der. Der Der Der. Der Der Derrrrr...

I once had the woo hoo's from song2

but I lost that phone. Now it just rings all normal-like.

:'(

Ric Flair's entrance music

with WOOOOOOOOOOO at the beginning

(Hey You) What's That Sound?

arrives with a burst of squelchy synth and is very obvious, but also quite cool.

the victory music

from final fantasy 7
[/geek]

i have the catchphrase noise for my texts.

Defibrilator

Napoleon IIIrd

Ready For the Floor

one of my flatmates and I have this, which does get confusing, but equals a three-way flat sing-along everytime one of us gets a phonecall

right now it's bloc party - luno

I've had my phone like a year and a half and i've still not updated it. I should probably go back to Wolf Parade - This Hearts On Fire. It's totally cooler and stuff.

lust by the raveonettes

amazing song, but not such a good ringtone.

my old phone played the chorus from "beautiful sorta" by ryan adams, which absolutely rocked.

right now

mine is the boys noize remix of phantom part two.. really needs a change though

currently

when you sleep
MBV

I have cherub rock-smashing pumpkins as my one

Purely because the intro makes it sound like your phone is about to erupt

It's all about

'Sony Ericsson' by Sony Ericsson. Old skool mate, old skool.

scenic world - beirut

or, grass - animal collective

i have

glasgow mega snake

it's well good

I have an old phone

And I can't change the ringtone, so it's been Can You Feel It? by The Jackson Five since I got it.

=/

FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!

The best rintone ever.

*ringtone

i'm sure you could have figured that.

Born Under Punches

is my ringtone. It starts off with that, buh-do-do-AHHHH and then goes right into chippy-clicky guitar. It is a little embarassing in the library.

Two Steps Twice

but the real question here is; why hasn't the 24 ringtone been mentioned yet? sell out?

system of a down

Cigaro- it fits the criteria: kicks in at the start, scares the shit out of old ladies, and the icicng on the cake; the first line, "my cock is much bigger than yours!"

My Doorbell

The White Stripes

"When you gonna ring it, when you gonna ring it?...."

Brakes - Pick up the phone?

Is there a more suitable song for the occasion?

Perfect Situation by Weezer

Make Believe's redeeming feature. Used to have That Great Love Sound by Raveonettes. That was an awesome ringtone.

18,000 Lira

It's been my ringtone for ages. It really needs changing.

I have Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass for texts

and Cursive - Some Red Handed Sleight of Hand for calls.

S'pretty good.

Someone I know has Debaser

which is good, but now she associates the song with her phone which is not so good. My phone just vibrates.

The Crystal Method - Born Too Slow

is my current ringtone.

British Sea Power's Men Together Today

was mine for a while. Brought about some strange looks on public transport. My self conciousness meant it had to go.

i have never seen The Crystal Method mentioned on DiS before. :)

I have Blue Monday as mine
used to have Enjoy the Silence. I find electro pop hits work pretty well

Goblin- Tenebre

That works ridiculously well but for a while I had Shampoo- Trouble until the first time it went off in a quiet public place... I couldn't handle those looks of annoyance and confusion again.

marnie stern "vibrational match"

BACHHHHEE!!!!
widdly-widdly
