Boris has 28 releases
The Japan editions always have different mixes and track listings than editions outside Japan. Which means all Boris titles that get dual release (inside/outside Japan) are actually twofers- provided you can get you hands on both.
Because they are so prolific Boris has implemented a little recognition code or key to help us be informed Boris buyers:
BORIS in uppercase letters: Straightforward Rock
boris in lowercase letters: Experimental
the key is how the word BORIS appears on the cover
No one in Boris speaks english
Atsuo is Vegan- he likes plastic shoes
I ordered the japanese version of "Smile" from Inoxia Records in Japan but it hasn't arrived yet. The cd case is made out of foam rubber. hmm, should be good.
whats it
with the japanese version - is it really so much different??
I guess so
different people mixing, different songs even.
I can't say for certain but another user posted saying they had heard both and that they were night and day, that the Japanese was a much rougher mix and that in their opinion the one they preferred.
Boris does stuff like that. I have encountered stuff like that before with other artists; where you are used to the way an album sounds and then years later you get an import that is kind of different from the one you are familiar with.
