i'm just about to walk into Leeds for it, super siked.

one of my favourite bands for a good few years, and the 2 new tracks on myspace tell me this album is going to be stunning.

JESUS!

I didn't know owt about this. I still listen to 'Rebuild the Pier' fairly regularly.

I have it due for delivery so I will be listening to it all weekme thinks.

This and We Are the Physics, it has been a good week..

has yours arrived yet?

I ordered it so long ago I'd forgotten about it... fingers crossed it's there when I get home

I decided to no wait as the delivery address is in glasgow.

So I got it off 7Digital. Nice 320KBPS.

Oh yeah, it is vvery fucking summer!

well

i got it, and im midway through the album. fucking beautiful.

this band does things to me that no other band manage

if Hug the Coast was winter, then Rest and Be Thankful is definately summer

highlights so far are Tonight We Will Carry Him Home and Dear Dusk. anticipating the new chez chef...

hmm

new chez chef sounds a bit flat and lifeless

disapointing

might just take some getting used to.

everything else has been gold so far though

holy fuck!

10th of July - Kingston, New Slang @ The Works*

12th of July - Newport, Le Pub

The Kingston one is with Luke Leighfield!

Brrraaaaap

ap ap ap

I'll be at Kingston then. And I may even head back to Leeds for t'other one.

Is it as good as Rebuild the Pier?

so...

have people who pre-ordered this recieved it today? The prospect of returning home to find it is making me so ver very excited. And tour dates, holy crap yes!!

I've had it for over a month now

I got an advance copy, but my pre-ordered CD came through today as well.
It's really great, I'm not sure I like it over Hug the Coast, but it's still very good.

It arrived!!

What can I say, I just love this band so so much. Another beauty of a record. Awesome.

I presume you've all heard them...

But Buen Chico, a Leeds band, aren't a million miles away from the Stapleton sound and their album is fucking kwality with a captial K.

Buen Chico are from halifax!

or at least morgan is.

and they sound cock all like stapleton, they sound like any other summery indie pop band.

I just dunno

They're just such a HUGE American Football ripoff, i can't see past it. Al is awesome though.. Metronomes and Elements Of The 70's are both really great. I guess i prefered Stapleton when they first came out and were more mathy. Arg.

???

when were they ever a math rock band?

Hmmm

Stapleton really sound nothing like American Football.

^ This.

I can see the comparison... but still, they sound the same because they use guitars and chords... :)

just a side note...

Stapleton formed in the same year as American Football. I don't think they're ripping them off at all.

So they have tinges of that American sound

But Damn Stapleton write great tunes. I can;t wait for my copy to come, Play.com reckon they posted it on the 9th!

year 8

i saw them years ago in portsmouth with lucky thirteen and hundered reasons, and bought a stapleton t-shirt trying to be 'different' to my mates who all bouth hundered reasons t-shirts. i also got there 'icy you' ep which is amazing. anyway, forgot about them until now! they are incredible!

sorry man, you usually talk sense

but stapleton, american football and mathy shouldnt be in the same sentence really.

Eh?

Al is known to sound exactly like the singer from American Football. Stapleton used to be a math-rock band, back in the day. Jings...

well unless im missing some stapleton records, which im not

then stapleton were never "mathy".

stopping a couple of times in a song and changing tempo is what i'd call "not boring", not "mathy"

Ok

Well, you have all the records and suddenly math-rock (or one of it's many, subtle guises - none of which i have made up) now means not-boring.

I used to see all their shows, way before they had a record out, but nevermind. I'm sure i didn't.

And i'm sure American Football's (and, no doubt, Mike Kinsella as a whole) self titled album sounds nothing like Stapleton, when in fact, it sounds exactly like Stapleton. But i'm wrong. Because you say so.

it's not even a subtle guise!

they sound nothing like any math-rock band i've ever heard. you'll have to introduce me to some similar math-rock bands, because stapleton are one of my favourites.

you might have seen all of their shows, but i've seen them live a few times too, and they don't sound math-rock live or on record.

fair enough, stapleton play some twinkly indie emo, and al's voice is slightly whiney, but i still think it's miles away from american football, and there are a 1000 other bands they sound more like.

nah.

none of the stapleton albums have ever been put out on vinyl, it sucks.

^ This.

I don't know about this release, but it pretty much sucks.

Im in Sheffield today

anyone know where i can get this in this city eh eh

please?

i'm thinking of

downloading this tonight, or is it worth buying the cd? I wish it was possible to buy the cd, and get the digital download free for the meantime, cause i'm really looking forward to this.
