Supermayer?

So I'm like, totally hot for the two Supermayer remixes I've heard, yeah. And then it like, totally turns out that he/she/they have an album out too

I know nothing about Supermayer, other than the fact that the Rufus Wainwright and Hot Chip remixes I've heard are the tits. My Amazon research revealed the album's existence, and also showed that 'customers that bought this item also bought' albums by people such as The Field, Booka Shade and Burial, so it appears Supermayer are in good company

Anybody care to vouch for this? I'm pretty poor right now, so won't be able to order the album for another two weeks. Which like, totally sucks, y'know?

'Save The World' is ok

Nothing ground breaking, there are some really good tracks but I expected something more from a collaboration between Michael Mayer (who runs Kompakt) and Superpitcher.

.

Wolfgang Voigt runs Kompakt. Mayer just works there.

Big article on Wolfgang Voigt

in Wire this month....one for the chin-strokers ;)

my bad

.

It had the makings of something particularly excellent,

but sadly failed to live up the potential. Pitchfork's review is relatively spot on.

<3 The Field. But i'm totally indifferent to Supermayer.

aye, just read that

Shame really. I'll still check it out though. Speaking of the remix, did you ever come across Rufus Wainwright's piece?

It's not up to much.

Superpitcher and Mayer are much better on their own.

In that rough area of music though I'd really check out

Gui Boratto - Chromophobia
Pantha Du Prince - This Bliss
Trentemøller - The Last Resort

and any Deadmau5 you can get your hands on.

^ Soundtrack to my summer so far.

Yep, digging that Gui Borratto album

And I've long been familiar with Trentemøller. Seeing Booka Shade for the most time this summer too, so I'm super excited about that. In White Rooms live must be the shizz

Deadmau5, however, is now on my list. Good work!

I found Vexillogy

after around an hour of searching.

Agreed...

... for a better tech-pop album try Fairmont's "Coloured in Memory"
