i'd go for Master and Everyone and I See a Darkness next, to follow along a similar vein.
then i'd head down into Palace territory by getting Viva Last Blues and maybe Lost Blues and Other Songs.
but honestly, it's all good and you might find you become a bit of an obsessive obscurist before long. i think they're just the most accessible of his earlier stuff.
so many choices!

hi again
i nominate 'i see a darkness' and 'master & everyone' too.
Superwolf
the album with Matt Sweeney is amazing.
I See a Darkness is pretty awesome too.
Go back to his very first album
There is no one that will take care of you.
You've heard the softer, Bonnie side. Now hear the ramshackle Palace. Still, probably, my favourite album of his.
