Is this the Social board invading Music?
I think thats what just happend
is the internet gona break?
Rah!!
I listened to A Song to Ruin today again.
Some of the bestest singalong lyrics ever.
i'm listening to I Gave My Eyes To Stevie Wonder
still as awesome as the day i first heard it.
i think tomorrow (or today, during normal people's hours) will be Million Dead day.
I've recently discovered Asthma
I dunno where it's from but its such an amazing song.
What version of Stevie Wonder have you got. I can only find a crap quality live version. Its balls.
Asthma
Was a demo the band were working on in 2004, along with 'Tonight, Matthew' (another class tune) that would've probably been on the second album. But then Cameron left =(.
A Song to Ruin is one of my favourite albums ever. Every song is a winner. Gutted I only saw them live once, with Tom on guitar! But that was still an awesome gig.
Buy the single
jizz on it
An interesting proposition
Its an amazing song though, yes.
I'm glad to see this thread still going at any rate.
"I'm only working here because I need the
f**kin money"...not really good song though and as good a way as any to end their run of singles. I keep hoping that one day they'll reform and give it another go although it looks increasingly unlikely.
Loved 'em
So glad I got to see them live, was truly gutted when I heard they'd split.
The Rise and Fall = fucking tune.
i gave my eyes to stevie wonder is my favourite song of theirs
:D
Terrible, embarrassing band.
I used to like you
:'(
While you are here
did I hear that Held By Hands have a tour EP thing being sold in June or did I make it up completely?
We should have!
We haven't had the time to record it yet, though...
i always thought Million Dead
was one of those bands that everyone loved. guess i was wrong.
everyone does love them
One day
Frank will realise he's fooling himself and get back to the rock.
Oh and best song
Is Smiling at Strangers blatantly.
but you HAVE heard the song i gave my eyes to stevie wonder?
...
Wrong!
MacGyver.
yes...
one day soon! as much as i like the solo stuff, nothing compares to MD.
...
Why? Before I dismiss it and claim you talk out of your arsehole.
^^^
Yes, of course, it's great.
Saw them twice.
Both times by accident. Hated them. Pretentious wank.
...
0-8 marks: Candidate's analysis is brief and unelaborated. No ref, no examples. FAIL.
I prefer Frank's
solo stuff, even if it is a bit... much sometimes
^^^
Get out.
Doesn't mean he can't love MD
Does it?
For the record, I don't see why you can't love both, because I do.
The bit where Ben starts screaming in the background of The Rise And Fall is one of the best ever moments in music for me. Pure shivers down the spine stuff, like the noisy bit in Washer and the bit in Crazy Woman Dirty Train by TAAS where the song crushes you to death.
MD = Love
Watch this
for the best shiver of excellence you'll ever feel

This video was
what made me fall in lovewith this band.
^^^
Christ, that is amazing. I miss them.
<3
OK, so
this thread made me want to make 'the ultimate MD comp' so I could give it to pretty much all of my friends.
I tried to get in all the singles (lame!) and have a fair spread of all their releases. MacGyver only just missed the cut, even though it's one of my favourites.
Of course, I was tempted to just have the ten tracks of AStR.
Anyways,
1. Breaking the Back
2. Hipsterclad and Clueless
3. To Whom it May Concern
4. Living the Dream (album version, just so these tracks flow together like they do on HnH)
5. Stevie
6. Charlie
7. Chinua (getting lazy now)
8. I Am Teh Party
9. Carthagio est Delenda (wasn't going to include it, but read somewhere that it's Ben's favourite, so it's here out of respect for him)
10. Smiling at Strangers on Trains
11. After the Rush Hour
12. The Rise + Fall
13. I Will Never Forget You (Husker Du cover, live on the Lock Up 2005)*
*bonus track lol
best thread ever
EVER.
I've mentioned this before,
but the first time I saw them (supporting FFAF) I was blown away. Best support band I've ever seen. I remember thinking "there's no way Funeral can top that."
And i'm guessing
they didn't?
you would be correct.
I lost my Steve Wonder and Tonight Matthew MP3's!
Two of my favourite Million Dead songs :'(
Anyone care to YSI them for me? I'll be eternally grateful!
Fuck
Matthew, I'm not sure I'm quite the right
material for best in show.
I completely forgot about that tune. Immense.
