...oh yeah, and preferably one that's on eMusic. I've got 6 downloads left on my trial and I'm open to suggestions.

(I took the suggestion of Bon Iver yesterday, which was a good one)

i got bon iver at the weekend

his voice is amazing :D

...

Fleet Foxes EP-possibly my favourite new band...

It's an EP

rather than an aklbum but Our Secret Garden's new EP Lost Sailor is well worth a listen, especially if you like Bon Iver

I think

I've got that wrong it's Our Broken Garden EP by Lost Sailor... duh

Download

half of the Ola Podrida album, and then the other half next month

Sorry

you're on free trial. Sign up and download the other half. Its worth it

At the moment I'm listening

to You Made Realise Ep by My Bloody Valentine. Get it!

Or try

the Complete Guide to Insufficiency by David Thomas Broughton, amazing

^

this is excellent.

second this

if you don't have it, i love each song on this. a lot of good jazz albums are 6 tracks or less, but finding something else maybe difficult.
fleet foxes - sun giant
high places - demos
decemberists - 5 songs

square...

by buck 65. 4 tracks, each about 15 minutes long and all amazing.

^this man

could not be more right if he wore a C18 t-shirt and voted Kilroy.

Consistently one of my favourite albums for about 6 years now, and there aren't many things I could say that about...

anything by

Godspeed You! Black Emperor

obviously.

My first thought was

The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place - Explosions In The Sky.

There's only two possible choices

Station To Station - David Bowie (6 tracks)
Spirit Of Eden - Talk Talk (6 tracks)

Russian Circles - Enter

is your answer

you are there

by mono.
really. if for 'yearning' alone.

Kraftwerk

The Man Machine - 6 Tracks including
"We Are The Robots"

...

YES! This and Can 'Future Days' anyone?

Newsom

Ys. If it's not too obvious.

Other than that:
Boards of Canada - Trans Canada Highway
Burial's South London Boroughs EP
Any of the Mogwai EPs, or any EITS.
The Black Keys - Chulahoma
Thom Yorke's Spitting Feathers EP

Jesus Songs - Broken Family Band

Editor's Recommendation - Half Man Half Biscuit.

Or of course, the mighty Jerusalem by Sleep...

Yes

Jesus Songs is well worth it

Oh man!

The complete Half Man Half Biscuit back catalogue (but not the new album yet) is on here! If only I had known.

Think I should take a shot in the dark with these six tracks though. Will go for something else.

Can- Future Days

Robert Wyatt- Rock Bottom
Neu- Neu 75

Fuck Buttons "Street Horrrsing"

half a dozen on the dime

Dunno if it's on there...

Terry Riley - A Rainbow In Curved Air

This is brilliant

Thanks for all this! When I get home I'm going to sit down, do some track previews and give it some thought.

I'm not actually on a free trial - I've had that before. For £9.99, I got 35 tracks, plus 50 free and an audiobook. Did that (I was after something specific) then cancelled. Bargain.

Miles Davis - In A Silent Way

Only two songs, so you could still get Godspeed as well.

Lolita Storm - Sick Slits EP

I'm in such a bad mood today.

This^^^^^

a thousand times this. Or Orthrelm - OV. Only one track...how does it work? Can you get both?

pink floyd

wish you were here

Loose Fur's self-titled debut.

Project featuring Jeff Tweedy, Glenn Kotche and Jim O'Rourke.

In Loving Memory Of...

By Let's Wrestle

Or completely different from that, The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place (EITS)

Svn Fngrs by Black Francis/Frank Black

It's great. Hang on, it's actually seven tracks long, as the name suggests - so skip "I Sent Away" and you've got a great 6-track album. Hurrah!

Joe - www.anewbandaday.com

Station to Station

may be Bowie's best and has six tracks exactly.

JESU

SILVER

only 4 tracks. Enough.

khanate

capture and release

peels yer face off.

White Light/White Heat

by The Velvet Underground.

In the end

I went through them all (well, all that were on eMusic) and then came back to the start (nearly) and got the David Thomas Broughton record.

Which leaves me with one more download! Don't take the above as meaning "just choose folky stuff" - I like pretty much anything... suggestions for my last download?

The Hollows

by Why?

When I Close My Eyes

by Ozomatli

or

Elf Power - Simon (The Bird With The Candy Bar Head)

Both are on emusic, so no excuses now...

thank god!

that's honestly my favourite album ever made.

Seriously breathtaking stuff.

Pleased listen to it at night with the lights off or something

the one song I'd recommend would be Suffering Jukebox by Silver Jews

slint - spiderland

this is a DiS favourite...why has no-one mentionned it so far?!?!

a few i like that you might...

Hot (-) Fast (+) Union - by Bluetip (dischord records)
B EP - Battles
Cigarette Girl From The Future - Beauty Pill (dischord Records)
Burst And Bloom - Cursive (saddle Creek)
Circle Music - Drill For Absentee (mindwalk Records)
Monstro - Morkobot (supernatural cat)
Australasia - Pelican (Hydra Head)
Levittown - Retisonic (modern City Records)
Hurrah! Another Year, Surely This One Will Be Better Than The Last; The Inexora - YouthMovie Soundtrack Strategies

The Mars Volta - Frances the Mute

Kayo Dot - Choirs of the Eye & Dowsing Anemone with Copper Tongue
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King & Red

In short, Prog Rock. :)

Fuck Buttons

Street Horrrsing

6 tracks of fuzzy electric class.

Curve

'Blindfold' EP, you NEED TO GET THIS!!!

Ys would be my choice

There aren't many better than that.

Black Devil Disco Club - 28 After

Glenn Branca - The Ascension

can't believe nobody has mentioned it yet butt...

Johnny Foreigner - Arcs Across The City

Already have the actual physical CD

of Johnny Foreigner...

Having seen they've got the Half Man Half Biscuit back catalogue

I actually don't think I'm going to unsubscribe just yet.
