Cue a ton of responses
from people arguing over what is and what is not Math Rock...
The obvious answer would be -
If you like Battles, check out Don Caballero.
and also
Steve Reich
Drive like jehu??
Thats Math Rock, Right??
which album in particular by don caballero?
American Don
is probably the most Battles-y (in the sense that it uses loops pretty much all the time).
thank you :)

I concur
John Moncur
alot of stuf on Warp
is kinda future style madness.... Pivot could be good for ya. No idea what Math rock is really there was a good artical on it on here a while back.
If you like Mirrored...
...I'd suggest Standards by Tortoise. I was listening to this again recently and was struck how similar in tone and feel it is in places.
Not sure if they are Math Rock or not
but Tortoise is a great shout. If you can find "Millions Now Living Will Never Die", have a listen - it's great.

I agree more people should listen to Tortoise
I would never have called them math, but they are fantastic. And too often overlooked these days, it seems...
foals are not a math rock band anymore
end of.
the edmund fitzgerald
they released a split single on some crappy little label with youthmovies a while back, and have a comp. coming out on some different label soon...

Maps and Atlases
Hate being called Math Rock. My band did a song with them recently and they despise the term.
type 'math rock'
into the last.fm tag search and you get a rid good mix.
Not commenting on any band in particular but
NO TIME SIGNATURES = NOT MATH ROCK.
Doesn't matter what they sound like or whether they use polyrythyms...

Believe it or not
70's Genesis has some math rock elements.
(Not saying I like Genesis)

The mathy elements in Youthmovies' recent album are very much influenced by 70s Genesis.
