I'm so late on this one, as usual.
Amazing, isn't it? It feels like such a complete album, it has "the vibe" that all great albums have, and his lyrics are as good as always. He is so cool. He can pull of pretty much everything even this weird prog rockabilly-rock-jazz with sound effects or whatever this album.
Looks like it will be "the album of the year" for me, so far.

I havn't bought it either. I downloaded it because i have no money to spend on music at the moment.
But I could'ave borrowed it from my friend which doesent seem as bad. "So sue me".

Er - thats best opening line of a song in a long long time... Is he singing about Kurt Vonnegut do you think? I read something about his war time experiences (Vonnegut not Nick Cave:) and wiki has this to say:
"Vonnegut was one of a few American prisoners of war in Dresden to survive, in their cell in an underground meat locker of a slaughterhouse that had been converted to a prison camp."
Caves of the age that Vonnegut would have been standard reading for anyone with a literary bent.

I thought he was talking about a police van or something. The vonnegut thing definitely makes more sense.
Also
the production on it is brilliant. All the instruments sound great and its mixed excellently. Just an amazing overall sound.
