Look See Proof.

Why are these getting slagged off in NME days before the album is released. There's not another band around like them who put as much energy into the live performances, and the studio tunes sound amazing. It's totally unjust.
Anybody else feel this way?

Erm

Cos it's NME and they suck.

I didn't know they were being slagged off...

But Look See Proof are alright, the NME has covered bands that are far more deserving of a slagging - usually the ones they practically bum.

.

Id love to see album sales soar for these. These deserve to be huge this year.

Hmm

Oh, come on. Ok, "casualty" is a good tune and all that, but they are peddling a style that has been done to death over the past 5 years. Aren't they a bit late to the party?

.

Everyone is entitled to there opinion, however I do agree many bands have plagurised the futureheads and co's sound. But look see proof have that energy when they play live. Something all these other bands seem to lose when it comes to the crunch. I can say ive seen over 100 bands and while some have been amazing live. I still stick with my decision to say LSP are the best live band ive ever seen.

i'm not sure i'd go this far

but i've seen them three or four times now and they *have* impressed me pretty much every time i've seen them, which few bands in their style do.

i don't think i've ever heard any of their studio output though..

their album is due out?

when?
huh?
that seems to have been kept quiet :(

Start Again was an alright song

as was Single's the New Together. But both of them were released as B sides that were better than the A side, they're really not helping themselves much.

But that was back in 06/07

I haven't really heard anything new since (due to my own laziness).

NME sucks

who listens to them anymore.

personally id give then 6.4/10

Albums out June 2nd

I do agree the B-sides at times have been better then the A-side. To be honest I believe NME marking the album as 5/10 is harsh. Ive seen bands alot worse then them get better ratings.

I think they're a decent enough band.

Straight-forward indie lad-rock yeah, but good tunes. It's too easy for people to score Indie points on the back of bands like LSP. They're a million miles better than bands they might be lumped in with by people like NME.

I expect

Mark Beaumont would've given it a higher mark...

Just checked these out

and I quite like it.

Why is the faversham gig cancelled dammit.

See them in Cambridge a while back.

They are excellent live and Casuality is a great song. The b-side to the last single (Don't say A Word) was ten times better than the a-side though, a cracking tune. Looking forward to the album.

This is a JAG

you fools!

oh god

THIS IS GENIUS

o god noes

so what?

it's nice to see something JAG something that's not complete dogshit for a change.

He didn't really get much from it.

Other than a load of people going "yeah, they're alright. Oh, and NME are teh suxxx."

Live.

Bringing back the discussion from yesterday, and working within a music enviroment, everyone has agreed with the harshness of NME's rating for these guys new album. I urge you all to see them live at least once, then make your decision.

hmm

saw them live at great escape...

couldnt move for the acres and acres of flyers, bottle openers and badges that were floating around.

couldnt wait to leave as they sounded a lot like a poor mans bloc party

5/10 is harsh

Great band and proof of NME's idiocy

my band played live with them once..

thought they were a bit bland and quite dull! maybe thats just because my bands the tits!

Ah who knows!
