Barry Dobbin, one of the guys in the picture above (though we're not sure which), is returning from the ashes of the now defunct Clor with a new project.
Barringtone is the new vehicle of said electro visionary, and the outfit release their debut single 'Snake In The Grass' on June 23.The track is produced by Jas Shaw of Simian Mobile Disco
. maybe a Myspace? clicky.
I loved Clor
Gah, I thought it said Barrington
and was going to sound like Barrington from Maid Marian and her Merry Men.
I still listen to the Clor album
It's pretty great.
Barringtone
is ace. But that Clor album is going to stay towards the top of my favourite albums list for a long time.
Clor mark 2
No bad thing, really!
i'm guessing he was the driving force behind clor then?
just judging by how similar this is..
i was dancing around to...
Love & Pain about 4 hours ago, then read this. spooky.
but exciting.
Clor
In 2006, right after Clor broke up, I happened to find myself talking to Cadence Weapon about Clor. He told me that they broke up. So I said "Now there'll be 3 bands that sound like Prince instead of one." And he said "ha."
this sounds
quite exciting from the myspace songs
His Dad's an MP (Labour)...
..but supposedly he is the son that they don't really talk about.
Isn't that a picture of Barratt era Pink FLoyd?
I don't
like the single, despite liking Clor. But hey - maybe it was released as the result of an administrative error?
CLor
Ha ha I thought Barry Dobbin was the chubby bald one from Clor, love this new track!
