I grabbed Efrim's setlist from the ASMZ gig at the Scala. It's great - a very small piece of paper but with each (heavily abbreviated) track name written in huge shaky capitals and some lightning bolts underneath for decoration.
You?

^ Disappointingly NOT Take That
I was actually
humming that tune as I typed in the reply :)
I have another GZM setlist somewhere, but I've not scanned that in.
I had one of Conor Oberst's once
But since lost on numerous house moves.
On the setlists I write out, I write out one of the opening eight lines from whatever I'm listening to on the iPod at the time. Not sure if anyone's ever discovered this.
Alexisonfire's
I nicked the setlist at the end of a show they did in Aberdeen last year. When I went round the back to get it signed, they disappeared into their tour bus with it for a good while.
When one of them handed it back to me it was covered in doodles and phrases. It's one of my favourite things in my 'gig stuff box'.
Probably the TVOTR one I snaffled at Koko
Arcade Fire
Includes 'Im Still Ill' - The Smiths Cover :o
Awesome, I share it with my girlfriend, I get it on weekends.
honestly the most 'indie' post I've ever read
I salute you!
*rolls eyes*
what is it with you people and stereotyping
i've never understood the whole gayness of 'asking for the setlist'
lol
^^ 'gayness'
i've never amged to get one
*sob*
i'm pretty sure its Gaydom
i have loads
but most of them are typed up which dont mean dick really.
my fave is an old arab strap one handwritten by aidan in blue felt tip.
piglet.. ah
Hope of the states one
Purely because I went to get it signed about a year later and one of the guys went "Is this wallpaper? Why dyu want me to sign wallpaper". Oh how we all laughed, loltimes.
Arcade Fire
and also Beirut from glastonbury last year. Although they just sit in a drawer at home I still love them very much.
Mine is
a Spoon setlist from their first Borderline show in 2001. Handwritten on yellow lined paper.
Have a couple of other nice ones (Malkmus and Asobi Seksu) but the ones to get are Dinosaur Jr ones. Massive, and written in J Mascis looping scrawl. They're worth framing.
i've got a Dartz one!
it's great, they drew it as opposed to wrtiting it.
Worth putting on ebay?
lol.
sounds aweome
pictures?
Neutral Milk Hotel
written on a napkin
1998
dont be silly
i don't have any :(
I'm usually fairly near the front but never actually on the barrier, which probably explains it.
lykke li's from camden crawl
written on the back of some red stripe noted paper :)
have a new young pony club one in a drawer somewhere, not an avid collector tbh!
Brian Wilson setlist from a few years back
Completely forgotten where i've left it now, i know its around here somewhere.
i have a couple that are particularly nice
LCD at Brixton in 05. It says "yo" on it.
The National's from the gig at Fopp TCR on the day Boxer was released. The band signed it all and someone wrote the date on it
Jetplane Landing
Freshly crumpled and passed to me violently by one Ferris.
Looking through mine now
I have an Arcade Fire handwritten setlist from their first UK show at King's College.
and a funny Loney, Dear one, which is just written on a bluey/green toilet paper towel type thing.
But yes, handwritten ones are best.
the occaisional all encompassing 100% complete oeuvre setlist (and then some)
Like when you go to see a young band and they play everything they have ever recorded plus a few new ones. That is treasureworthy.
I never thought to nick the actual setlist
How is this done- does it require a physical probe of the stage area after the show? Or do you ask a roadie for it after?
I saw people pulling up bits of duct and masking tape off the stage after an Editors show- I wonder if those bits of tape are in jewellry boxes, corners of drawers and pressed in bibles now?
Most times I just ask the band as they leave
Or just pinch it off the stage during the last song.
how to get a setlist - a guide
1) be very tall (at least 6ft plus)
2) get to the front of the gig
3) As soon as the very last chord of the last song rings out pivot at the waist, lean out across the stage, and in one fluid movement remove the selist and make your escape.
Notes: step 3 is designed for small to medium venues only - larger venues may require roadie assistance.
The best technique is to try to keep at least one foot on the ground as you lean across the stage (think about snooker players when they are taking a shot) this way you should be free of accusations of stage invasion.
hmmmmmm
probably the one from my first lupen crook gig. the fully signed art brut one is also quite special to me, but it's typed up so loses some points for that.
