Albums where you play multiple cds simultaneously

I have the Neurosis one (times of grace/grace) but could never find two cd players that played in sync properly or if I did I wasn't that impressed.

I also have one by Rosetta that you are supposed to do this with.

Any recommendations? Has anyone ever tried that Flaming Lips one (?) where there are 4 CDs or something?

I have the Flaming Lips on

and have done it a few times. Its really good and pretty mad. yeah its 4 CD's so I used acrap CD player I have had for an age.... my laptop and some shity speakers.... the DVD player an the telly.... and finaly a decnt stereo.... it was worth it hehehehe

Aphex Twin Druqs also works like this.

You can

do that with Drukqs?? Really?? But they're two seperate disks with seperate songs....?

just play them at once

from the begining of each CD works a treat its fuckin mad mind.

No it isn't

It's a myth, it does nothing. Well, no, it doesn't "do nothing", but it makes just as much sense as playing two randomly chosen CDs at the same time. Listen to this if you're curious to find out for yourself, though.

it sounds like it works mind

the beats are matched and everything.....

?

No they're not. They're...well, "unmatched", if anything.

54 Cymru Beats, and jywnthek (sp), right...?

If it's matched,

it's not intentionally.

Pink Floyd

apparantly if you play dark side of the moon simultaneously with the wizard of oz there's bits that go together...

that also works

with the Klaxons buggd out mix CD too I have tryed it while pissed.

I'm sure there is a terrible joke to make

I might try this now. WMP won't let me open up multiple versions but I suppose I could use winamp and WMP at the same time.

are the neurosis cds good in their own right?

or just meh overall?

i was listening to 'given to the rising' yesterday, rather jolly.

Times of Grace is pretty great

although not as good as what came after (it was starting to go a bit more atmospheric and it has bagpipes). I think Grace is another consigned to the "lost in the process of several house moves" pile but it wasn't that good in my memory.

i was gonna get a new one soon

i was debating between eye of every storm and times of grace. I'll probably go latter.

(And d/l grace to try out the funky dual CD thing)

There's a Boris one as well...

'Dronevil: Final'.

I haven't heard it though.

'Zaireeka' is great, it's like a proto-'Soft Bulletin', and there's this weird high-pitched signal on one of the tracks which seriously disorientates you. It even has a sticker on the front of my copy saying as much.

NOOOO

get eye of every storm. It's probably my favourite Neurosis album. Certainly stronger than ToG which is somewhat patchy but has a few execptional moments.

hmmmm

stop confusing me. I was gonna get 'eye', then YOU started typing about 'times'. I check p/fork (fatal error, i know, i know) and they say 'times' is best. YOU (that's YOU) then say 'times' is (and I quote) 'pretty great'.

Storm it is then.

I like progression within a song, and a teensy bit of melody now and again, but i like quality the most. Am I still better off with storm?

confusion

I do think Times of Grace is pretty great and it is heavier, whilst still atmospheric. I just think that Eye of every storm is brilliant and it's definitely a move in the "atmosphere" direction. Still heavy enough though.

i prefer atmosphere

cheers

PS - i don't think there was too much doubt a neurosis record wouldn't be heavy enough

Don't Olivia Tremor Control have one?

Or have I dreamt this up? I think it's supposed to be played along with Dusk at Cubist Castle.
