These kids that live somewhat near me started a band, and it has been getting a lot of attention. They are called 'The Radical Sons'.
I went to their show with my friend last week and it was packed. Everyone kept saying how guys from this big record label flew in from New York City just to see them play a 30 minute set (the label people were pretty identifiable, they were the only ones old enough to drink at the show). There was a lot of press people at the show as well. I was pretty skeptical that a band of kids my age (17) could be that good, but they really were awesome live. They sound like 70's american proto punk bands (Television, Iggy Pop). Kids were really going crazy at the show, and afterwards they threw a really big house party at their drummers parents house, and played again to an even crazier (and drunker) audience. I dunno what happend with those label people, but i did read in the local music paper that they are being represented by the guy who does Sonic Youth and Franz Ferdinand.
I thought fellow DIS readers might like them.
