pannucci was on the ground so he shouldnt be active. apparently this happened this happened in a game in serie a this season and the rule was changed. I dont know what the exact ruling is.

he was still 'in play' and therefore active. He hadn't been sent off for treatment so was still part of the game. If it had been the other way round and a striker had been in that position and then come on and scored he would have been given offside.

The Italian attack wasn't great until late in the second half, mainly due to Grosso and Del Piero, but we did have some good chances then. Also before the Van Shitbag goal we looked good.
I would have thought that Buffon would have controlled the back four a bit better too.

Tonight was terrible
awful with a bit of luck (blantant offside 1st goal, goal-line clearance before 2nd goal, that unbelieveable van der sar save from pirlo before 3rd goal, and other close calls we had going forward) we may have got something from the game, the two world class counter attacks apart the dutch were really not that much better than us, the difference tonight was defensively the dutch were a lot better, i am quite concerned about how badly we are going to miss cannavaro, he's 34 now anyway so we should be lining up replacements for him anyway but clearly materazzi and balzaghi aren't the answer... my italy team for vs romania
