Anyone up for a game of Texas hold'em (play money)? Not now necessarily, unless people want to, but in future. We can turn it into a regular thing maybe, and even have a league if enough people are interested. Either way, it would be useful to have a list of names and the clients people use for organisation purposes.

I'd like to.

Online?

And also: only if it's played like it's for real money else there's no point.

I'd prefer a low stakes real money game to be quite honest...

Yeah, online

That was a silly omission... But I asked for a list of clients, so I think I saved it. I think it would be best to play for play money at first, just so people can get an idea of the standard. Whoever wants to play for real can then always do so.

no

I play on Poker Room

sharp_yet_blunt and hofo have already exhibited their interested.

I'll join

as long as we can normally play weekday evenings...

^

oh and small stakes only obvs.

i don't spend more than £10 a month on poker.

Or big stakes play money

YEAH? The thing about playing real money is that some people won't want to. And like I said up there ^^^^^ maybe play money first then real money later?

sounds good.

or play money, but we can win pints from each other at meats and stuff.

sure i will play

as long as we could get maybe 6 or 10 people. Play on pokerstars or something.

im down

if its strip webcam poker.

prima got new tables today

maybe we could play on those...the buyin is only one million, no biggie...

:o

i'd be interested

poker face --> :|

Yes

I like this idea.

Count me in

oh, and

pokerstars / fulltilt / ladbrokes

Happy with anything but PKR, it's overly complicated and fucking distracting with morons spamming emotions and chip shuffling and all. Wankers.

Deffo me

uh, guise.

count me in.
and we need a real life version. there's only so much bluffing i can do through a computer screen.

That would be ace

but logistically impractical, unfortunately.

count me in

Erm...

Is it not possible to set up private games on Poker Stars or am I being stupid?

I canny think of a program that

could let us do this.

So come to to London

Poker Room lets you

So let's just play on Poker Room?

You can

But not easily, you have to contact them, and you end up with a password-enabled tournament. Only cash players are allowed to request private tournaments, but the tables themselves are not cash games.

Sounds like effort

Especially since I'm not a cash player. Maybe sharp_yet_blunt could request? *Or* we can just set up a game on Poker Room? I don't think you can set up tournament games though. Did people want to play a tournament game? I kind of did.

I'll ask around at my league game on thursday

Someone will surely know somewhere to do it.

I tell a lie

You can set up tournament games but only for cash. And you can set up regular games only for play money. Weird. So how about just a regular game for play money tonight, around 10? Blinds fixed at $25-$50 NL, maximum $1000 buy-in? That's how much new members start with.

on pokerroom.com?

Fine by me, I'll register myself an account now

Yay

We could actually just have no rebuys, so it works like a tournament game anyway (albeit one with fixed blinds).

yeah, i'm in.

i LOVE poker.

Okay, to confirm:

No limit hold'em at around 10pm tonight on Poker Room (www.pokerroom.com) for play money.

Buy-in will be $1000 (which is what new members start with); blinds will be fixed at $25-$50.

There will be no rebuys so it can operate like a tournament game (obviously a winner-takes-all one), but I can't set that as an option so it'll just have to work on a trust basis.

For the same reason, if everyone could be ready to play at a prearranged time, that would be great.

You'll need to PM me or post your Poker Room username so I can allow you into the game.

I'll post a link that you should be able to find the game using, in case it doesn't come up in the table list.

If anyone has anyone problems with or suggestions for the above, feel free to post.

New accounts with them

only start with $1000 play chips anyway so they can't rebuy

You can refill your account though

3 times a day, I think.

why?

I don't know :(

Generic update:

Register an account at pokerroom.com and install the client (if you don't want to play using your browser).

Yep,

I'll lick you all. Do it in Burnley.

PS - do it again on Sunday night!

!!!!!!!!

PS. this is a really good idea! It beats the pansy ones like "disposable camera swap" hands down!

I'm setting up the game now

so huz up and sign up/give me your usernames. Remember to read the rules above before we start.

Instructions to find the game:

In the Poker Room client, select "Cash Games" at the top of the screen.

Make sure you've selected Texas Hold'em then choose "Medium" from the middle drop-down menu.

Scroll towards the bottom and you should see "-zapsta-'s HE".

his computer has crashed (y)

I'll set up a table....

I don't even know how to do this?

I went on Cash Games. I don't see any dropdown menus though?

are you using the software or through the browser?

none of us know what we're doing.

(y).

pm me msn's or something.

lol

sitting out on a heads up?

FUCKING HELL

this client is so slow and bollocks

you're in

!

no, but i can be

just restarted my laptop

Allow

I just shut it down. And I had to sign up with bloody "Zapsta_".

ah, try again tomorrow

i'll ask around to see where we can have private play money tables on a non-shit client. bedtime for me. x

yo

so no luck then?

you can start private tournies on stars if you play there a lot but i hardly ever play there. Ill ask betfair see if they will make one but i doubt they will for play money.

I think PokerRoom has multiple servers

and you can only connect to one at once (at random). I've sent them an email to see if there's any way around it.

Update

That is indeed the case. They've said the only solution is to reload the software or refresh the browser page and see if I end up on the right server (there are only 2 servers), but I'm fairly certain that it isn't actually random because a friend and me always seem to end up on the same server (and you guys obviously all ended up on the same server, with me on a different one). We'll see tomorrow.

go on then

pokerroom again?

Yeah

with PokerStars as a contingency.

I'll do it if I'm on.

Kick that guy's bottom again.

Although I had to pop out last time because of something or other and when I got back he'd gone.

I say we do a different site though, because Poker Room was pretty shit. No chatting, complicated screen set-up, and the main colour was BROWN.

There should be in-game chat

I don't know whatthatwasabout. The main draw though is that it's the only site we can set up a private game on.

Can't really do tonight

but let me know how it goes and I'll be up for future games :)

That was me :D

p_v isn't some sort of sexy poker hustler

In fact

she's none of those things ;)

hey

i sometimes stake people in the 35k GTD on pokerstars. It starts at 11pm. If anyone from here is up for it let me know. Its a donkfest so skill is not really a requirement.

i pay your entry fee

if you make it into the money we split profits 70/30.

you wanting to play?

do you have a pokerstars account?

I do

Mr Zapsta. Is it the one with a $5.50 buy-in and about 1200 people registered?

ok ill ship you $11

for buy-in plus one rebuy if you bust, we split profits 70/30 if you win anything, deal?

Deal

Thanks!

ok sent

you should get an email when you get it, hopefully it transfers quick so you can register in time

Sorted

I'll try not to let you down.

cool so you registered in time?

post here with updates.

$2,690

Which puts me 4th

But at least 2 of the guys ahead of me started with $3,000, and one of them has already bought back in twice.

woop

i havent had a hand yet, still got 1470

Lost with pocket aces to a straight on the flop...

It was 8 high though, and the guy had called a fairly big bet pre-flop, so I think I was entitled to go for it. Down to $170... Just waiting for a massive hand to go all-in with now.

just push in with any semi decent hand

you can rebuy if you lose anyway
