I think went I spoke to Alexi at a gig a bit a go he said they were one of his influences, but can't quite remember?.
he certainly admits a bit of kinsella worship
and more than a bit of victor villareal impersonation... owls are probably the pinnacle kinsella band. The self titled (only) album is just packed with gorgeous, sprawling, jazzy, messy emo.. it's really, really good and nobody imitating it has got anywhere near.
so not especially like JoFo, no.. although you'll certainly spot the odd stolen riff..

but when I download the file it saves as an .emp file. Any ideas what the prob is? I'm sure in the past it just saved as mp3 automatically!
You need to open the
.emp with the emusic downloader. Just double-click the file if you already have it installed and it will then start downloading the .mp3s. I remember this confused me for a bit.
I think
the .emp file is what the download manager uses to get the music.
