I like: Divine Comedy, Magnetic Fields

I want: reverb-drenched, pop-tinged, booming-voiced, lush melancholy with a good ear for a tune.

I really don't like yelpy vocalists.

Any suggestions people?

Although, as the bloke from Divine Comedy pointed out: "Scott Walker is the musical equivalent of Marmite."

Perhaps

Hawksley Workman.
But I should stick to letting me be the only one to like him/them on here.

Songdog I've seen live - thanks lyle.

Scott Walker's Jacques Brel covers - amazing.

Mazzy Star, The National, Rialto, Hawksley Workman, Jens Lekman I will check out. I remember hearing and liking at least one song by Mazzy Star.

Super.

Hey

Maybe early Death Cab For Cutie, 'Lapalco' by Brendan Benson, Throwing Muses, and you may well like Glasvegas.

I do like Glasvegas!

Excellent band, I need their album.

Further to below, the Delgados are very nice too.

This is all deeply constructive. Keep it going!

The Delgados!

The Great Eastern and Hate are two of the classics of this decade. not much reverb but fits your other criteria.
