I'm trying to gain weight, I'm always hungry but I don't get enough time to eat, and it's expensive having 5 meals a day.
Eat late at night then.
You'll get fat in no time at all!
If I cook that late I never end up washing up..
..and with the credit crunch, I can't afford enough food. Usually if I eat late it's no more than a bacon sandwich. Though I did have about 7 pancakes one night last week.
Eat lots of jacket potatoes covered in butter then.
Cheap as chips and bloody easy to make.

slices of cheese at 6pm
decide to make it a cheese toastie at 6:08pm
feel bloated, so only snack on pistachios
pistachios make me hungry, so yoghurt at 8:21pm

At which point I figure I might as well leave it to the evening and have something hideously unhealthy.
It works in a 'not really ever getting hungry' kind of way, but fails big time in a 'keeps you with some degree of good health' way. But luckily for me, I just really can't bring myself to care about the latter one.

i suppose more pertinently
i used to eat nothing till lunch (1) with the occasional exception of an apple or some toast at 11 or so, because i just couldn't bring myself to eat in the morning, even though i knew i really should. then i went mountain walking for a month, and it's pretty much impossible to walk for a few hours, have a lightish lunch, walk for a bit longer and then get to your evening destination without a pound or two of porridge sticking to your ribs.
Since then I've been pretty good in the morning, though I have to force myself on occasion (especially as muesli gets a bit dull sometimes). but it's worth it.
