Saw a thread about these a few weeks ago and as i cant find that now, thought i'd start a new one given that theyve put new songs on their page:

Theyre the best powerpop, Pavement inspired songs i've heard since, well, Malkmus' first album. Really surprised people havent been getting carried away about these already...

Anyone else a fan? "Our Nam" is my favourite.

DEFINITELY

a fan!

word

the addition of the Maltese Falcon on guitar has really brought them up to a new level. They're really tight live now as well.

'Our Name' and 'Country' are stupidly catchy - looking forward to hearing them once they get recorded / released properly after the summer.

Yup!

We like Favours. 50's is best

They're not

strictly speaking powerpop but definitely a good band. I've enjoyed them a lot on the times I've seen them!

like what I heard

would really like to see them !

Powerpop?

Why aren't they powerpop? They seem like they have a clear affinity with bands like Big Dipper, The Cars, The Feelies, the dbs etc. And if those bands aren't powerpop, then mabe i don't know what the term means...

Anyway, great band, still yet to see them myself. I will be correcting that asap!

don't really care about the genre thing

to me they sound like a great mix of US indie-rock and power-pop. Definitely hear a heavy Big Star, The Cars, Beach Boys influence mixed with Pavement, Sebadoh, Islands. their recent stuff is getting poppier and more melodic; the maltese falcon is a great songwriter for sure.

...even your lovers wouldn't save you, you're tied to a chair doing favours for sailors...
