Having an argument with a friend about these guys live.
She thinks they are great live but I think they are only ever really ok as for me they have no presence/charisma and they always strike me as going through the motions.
What do you lot think?
I would like to add that I really like their music.

Just epic and fantastic really. Admitedly they don't talk a lot between songs but it really doesn;t matter
I'm not really looking for chat between songs...
I just don't think they have any charisma. They sound exactly like they do on their records, there are no surprises in their live sets.

if the sound is great at a gig
i dont really care that a band has no stage presence.i just want it to sound nice.they are a bit boring live but theyre songs dont exactly warrant jumping when being performed.

I just like to be at a gig and if I close my eyes it is as though I am just stood in a room with the record on but very, very loud.
I don't go for the live experience, that's only you as you are unique.
i saw them live at manchester apollo
in what must've been 2005 with my ex-gf and i was so desparate to get rid of her at the time but kept bottling it.
but they made me forget about how rubbish she was so i'd say theyre quite good live.
8/10 for me.

I've seen them a couple
of times at Festivals and they were "ok" but I saw them do their own show in an arena and they were AMAZING - full on throbbing rock in spray on jeans.
I like singing The Bucket on SingStar, makes you realise how distinctive a voice he has.
They have really improved
they were at best average 2 or 3 years ago now they have some real anthematic tunes which generate a brilliant atmos, the songs speak for themselves live they don't need gimmicks.
They just get on with it
but I really enjoyed them at Glastonbury (and Reading last year).
With some bands, they seem to be let down live by lack of interaction but for some reason it doesn't feel that necessary with Kings of Leon.
There set at Glastonbury
was very good. They seemed to be very humbled by it all. The atmosphere and sound were all good too.
