first time in a while I've had a good night like this! great line-up, enjoyed the hippy panderings of wotjek godicz (also enjoyed heckling him, ha!), and was a delight to see Betty and the Werewolves for the first time, it was like 1993 all over again! wonderful heavens to betsy/bratmobile/sleater kinney stuff, and the most severe fringes since ladytron... applicants were indeed amusing and fun, two guys doing sleazy joke rock like primal scream with a shouty mad japanese girl jumping around like a mad thing! headliners violet violet were a bit of a comedown after that, again doing riot grrl/pylon type stuff and on another night they would have been great but against the last two bands they were slightly outclassed, ah well...
