is homeless/drug addicted/living in the woods with wolves/busy making up ridiculous lies about his whereabouts, i don't think there's too much chance of him mounting a legal case.
Some of these replies are quite funny....but I suppose pretty fair. We love Owls and have never said any different. They're one of our favourite bands ever and a big influence, especially on this record. We love the sound of that record and we'd be lying if we said we didn't try to get a similar sound ourselves. To say that we've outright copied them though is a bit of a stretch (imo). I don't think there are any stolen riffs or melodies or anything and I don't think my vocals could be anymore different than Tim Kinsella's.
This record is not '26 is dancier than 4' 13 times over. We still love that song, but we just weren't in that space anymore. Tim was getting pretty bored with guitar tapping and wanted to challenge himself a bit more. There is still one song with guitar tapping, but we thought 'Chinchilla' was more representative of the album as a whole and thought we'd throw it up on myspace to give people a listen. It's a new direction for us so it is good to get some feedback. Thank you.
and I see your playing 'somewhere up north' soon I will no doubt try and catch ya... well at least if you narrow it down a bit soon and I dont have to guess which place up north you are gona be at. That might make me misss ya ;)
I wanted to get those Jonquil dates firmed up before putting the new song up. It's just taking too long to get people to confirm and we couldn't wait any longer.
it is
bonza
.
I like.
totally
rad
one for the young uns?
it actually sounds even more like owls than their previous stuff
is that
physically possible?
i've just listened
the guitarist is genuinely fantastic, but...
the ideas? really verging on lawsuit stuff.
given victor villareal

I likes.
Still, not as good as '26 is dancier than 4' though. That was awesome.
haha

Only one song with tapping!
But I love the tapping! Sure it will be great though, cannae wait for it.
i'd just like to say
i still enjoyed the song.
i love algernon cadwalladers record, and they're the biggest kinsella rip-off merchants around.
was only making a point, not dissing the band.
No offence taken
fear not. I'll call the dogs off now then shall I?
;-P

wicked :)
I'm well lookin forward to hearin more new stuff.
for some reason Jonquil have passed me by, even after seening their name about quite alot, I'm not sure I have heard much by them.
Laters dude
i think i prefer this to the earlier stuff (26 era)
It sounds less polished.
Doesn't sound like Owls though.
Does the 'Somewhere up north' mean Scotland, or, like, Manchester?
There is 1 Scottish date
that we're in discussion with someone about, but we haven't had it confirmed yet.
are you looking for more!?
or are you just wanting to stick with the one?
We have been trying to get a Glasgow date on the 22nd
but none of the promoters we've contacted there have got back to us.
check yer messages :]
bump
.
this is nice
not as good (on first listen at least) as anything on the split EP, but I'm still really looking forward to their Truck set and to the album.
Chinchilla is great
But wait until y'all hear Panda!
