It basically claims age shouldn't matter in pop, but only after a lot of nudge-nudgery about people lying about their age. Besides which there's plenty of past pop life evidence about both Duffy and White which would surely confirm/give the lie to their given ages.

is 25, there's an article on thisislancashire from 2001 about an old band she was in and she is said to be 18 on it. So unlikely it's a lie.
A friend tells me
she is in her late 30's. Could be some truth in that..? I'm really not sure.
