The Last EVER Thee Awkward Silences' Silent Night
It's like the end of an era only a bit less dramatic...
We've reached the end of the end and the last stop on the line. After a total of 15 and a half months, 16 nights and about 12 audience members Thee Awkward Silences' Silent Nights reach their conclusion with a special last ever Silent Night on Tuesday July 8th. We'd be delighted if you'd join us for this fond farewell to a much-loved British institution.
We've assmebled a very special bill of some of the finest acts we put on over the course of Silent Night's brief history and can promise you an outstanding bill featuring:
10:20 - 10:50 - Paul Hawkins & Thee Awkward Silences
www.myspace.com/theeawkwardsilences With the band's debut album "We Are Not Other People" edging ever closer, Paul Hawkins & Thee Awkward Silences close Silent Night with a literally show-stopping performance...
"Rapidly becoming the greatest artists of 2008" - Bearded Magazine
"Half-crazy, all wonderful" - A New Band a Day
9:40 - 10:10 - Tim Ten Yen
www.myspace.com/timtenyen Probably the greatest pop star in the world, Tim Ten Yen is a one-man, casio keyboard, sinister cat, MP3 player and smoke machine extravaganza and will give you one of the finest half an hours of entertainment you'll ever experience. Tim releases his debut album in August on Pointy Records and hopefully it'll catapult him toward the household name status his fantastically written, exquisitely performed pop songs so obviously deserve.
Fuck Dress
9 - 9:30
www.myspace.com/fuckdress Norwich's alt-rockers return to Silent Night, something Paul's stupidly exicted about. In their own words:
"We often get compared to Joy Division, The Fall, Pixies and The Chameleons. Except we have a female drummer that only uses two drums. Which gets us compared to the Jesus and Mary Chain."
Stage Sages 8:20 - 8:50
www.myspace.com/stagesages One of London's finest new bands, the 8 (I think)-piece psyechedelic gypsy-pop are a fitting act to open the final Silent Night.
Niall Spooner-Harvey - 8 - 8:20
www.myspace.com/spoonpoetry Silent Night's resident and brilliant performance poet Niall Spooner-Harvey delivers yet another set of performance poetry brilliance
Plus free biscuits and all the other usual gubbins.
Daniel's down to come on Facebook anyway and had said he was gonna try and come along whereas with Will Hatfood I think it comes down to whether he gets everything sorted with settling into London in time. But hopefully...
Oopsie

i'm totally going to this

You're going?
Oh poo. I didn't figure on that ;)
please tell me he's not a Japanese rapper
?
he's not
but there's a myspace link in yonder post up there if you're that curious
,,,
what on EARTH made you think that?!
yen?
but Yen's not a japanese NAME
it's more likely to be a Chinese, or possibly a Korean name
HA OWNED
Hmm.
I don't suppose "Tim Pound Pound" would work as well either.
will be there
for sure
:)
Have I met you? If so, I apologise for not remembering.
how on earth is that owned?
yen is the japanese currency, he associated that, which is why i suggested it. there's nothing else to it.
i know, but it's not a NAME in japanese
Thanks Mirri!
Please do come along anyone reading this. And do say hello to me if you do come along!
PS for those keen on spotting recently moved to London DiSers I'm hoping DanielKelly and Royter-Hatfood will both be in attendance...
OH MY GOD
Daniel-Hatfood and RoyterKelly?
I'm so there now, even though i was before anyway
Hopefully...
Daniel's down to come on Facebook anyway and had said he was gonna try and come along whereas with Will Hatfood I think it comes down to whether he gets everything sorted with settling into London in time. But hopefully...
i'm actually wet with anticipation now
don't let me down :P
Be warned
Seeing DanielKelly and Royter-Hatfood in the same room is the turning on the the Large Hadron Collider or crossing the streams in Ghostbusters.
This could lead to the end of the world as we know it...
Okay I'm scared now.
Please stop it.
Nick 'Sexy Face' Brusma has persuaded me to come to this
see you there!
Excellent!

this was about persuading people to come, John. that's why we were keeping your involvement quiet. oh well, i guess it's out now
Can I still 'hook up' with your friend?
what you do with your private life is your business
but hey, i'm sure she'll be flattered that you want to
ah-ha, at least they are female
I didn't dare ask, I was expecting you to set me up with a bloke
A dumb Swedish one?
