I get to play yay. But yeh there seems to be some good bands playing it. Not all amazing but I think it's predominantly stuff that people seem to like on here.
The organisers are the same people who used to do TMF, which started as a local festival in Thurrock and got really big locally ... it was great as a youngster catching bands like Hell Is For Heroes right on your dorrstep. Then they seemed to really branch out and introduce people to new bands - in 2005 (the last one) I caught Art Brut, The Duke Spirit, Tom Vek, Martin Grech, Johnny Truant, New Rhodes, Electric Eel Shock, Queen Adreena...
Offset is the first one in Hainault Forest, but I know from talking to the organisers down the years that the motivation is still to stay away from the blatant commercialisation that you get at so many festivals, and to keep ticket prices low. But I spose if everyone waits til 2009 there won't be a 2009 ... and anyway you won't get Wire AND Gang Of Four in 2009!!!
Good question
Though the first Offset is yet to happen.
Hainult Forest is lovely.
Looks good.

there's at least ten bands i want to see
plus a few others that seem worth having a look at/discovering so it certainly seems worth 45 quid.
Why wait
for 2009, the line-up is amazing this year!
I've heard the guys behind it did TMF so they have done festivals before.
Yep

It's not like I'm booking flights or anything
