Ok, so having been at ATP and saw Jens Lekman and his lovely dancing band, I thought I'd treat myself to one of his albums - what shall I buy???

I think
its called off the top of my head, "I wanted to be your dog" or something like that, its got dog in it...yeah i'd buy that
i bought his latest one
at ATP on the strength of that set.
it's called night falls over kortelda or something and it's very good so i'd go for that.
All of them
But yep, When I Said I Wanted To Be Your Dog is brilliant, the song Cold Swedish Winter is just beautiful. And his newest album, Night Falls Over Kortedala has some of my favourite lyrics on it. If you go on his website, there are some rarities/live recordings to download - www.jenslekman.com
Enjoy! He's so wonderful.
<3 Cold Swedish Winter
Gutted he didnt play it in manc though :( but the set was so ace it didnt matter!
Just to contradict everything said so far
start with 'Oh your so silent Jens", its generally considered to be his best, but you should be alright whatever you get its all golden..
When I said I wanted to be your dog...
Is a great album. I'd get it first. Night falls over Kortedala has some really great songs....but as an album I don't think it holds together as well or has much of the immediate "wow I love this" as WISIWTBYD.
All of them.
Or failing that, start with "Oh You're So Silent...". It's quite long and certainly isn't perfect (being a collection of EPs, rather than something recorded as an album), but it also has some of his finest tracks - "Maple Leaves" and "Black Cab" are amazing.
oooh the choices....
maybe i'll just choose the one thats cheapest... :)
