Ting-a-ling!

What's

6pm CST in real money? I'd quite like to watch Mission of Burma.

I think it's Chicago yeah?

So it should be fairly easy to go and check. Someone do it, i can't be bothered and i want to watch Sebadoh lol

midnight i think

woo

and nice user name if i may say so

:)

I'm thinking it will start at like 12-1 AM?

wow

sunday looks great. might just sit and watch that all night

sebadoh tonight and the hold steady/animal collective tomorrow as well

I'm jealous over Saturday

!!! are the most funnest live band ever!

I might just watch this in the dark

:( instead of going out *cries*

I hadn't even thought about the time difference!!

That means...

Animal Collective at 3am sunday morning and LSF 10pm Sunday evening.

Mission of Burma

are on now!
:3

And they're pretty fucking amazing

Are they coming over here anytime?

Don't

think so. Just checked last.fm and they only have a couple of dates lined up. :(

This is awesome

The crowd could do with a bit of livening up though

thanks

for the link. Watching stream right now. Mission of Burma are rubbish, but I'm watch the space for Sebadoh , Jarvis Cocker, Caribou, Fleet Foxes, Spiritualized, etc. ;)

I agree.

I think this is the only day of the three that hasn't totally sold out. Which is hugely gash.

Thats How I Escaped My Certain Fate

:D :D :D

Even Im dancing more than those gits

this is amazing!!

God bless the internet.

I fell

asleep just as Public Enemy came on. :(
Sebadoh were great.

Yeah loved it

They were so shambolic and amazing at the same time. Classic Sebadoh :)

can't

wait to hear Caribou, Fleet Foxes and if I will be lucky enough to don't fall asleep - Jarvis Cocker!
:)

I wanna watch

Jay Reatard & Times New Viking but they're not showing them.

vocals

for the Mission for Burma and now Titus are just rubbish. It sounds so amateurish.;o

They're showing Boris

Tomorrow night our time.

Damn!

I messed up the time - I wanted to watch Titus Andronicus.

So they're 6 hours behind the UK? So The Hold Steady will be on at 1am our time, right? And Animal Collective...oh shit, 3 am.

Hopefully the individual videos will be put up on Pitchfork.tv next week.

I'm sure they'll put up videos of everyone

This is probably the biggest event for Pitchfork.tv, i'm sure they'll fairly milk it.

...

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it is all up on p4k.tv next week.

yeah

but live is live. It isn't so fun to watch recorded live event, is it? :)

the coverage on this is pretty good

fleet foxes sound a bit like the hymns i used to have to sing at primary school tho

fleet foxes are gorgeous.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

fucking hippies.

that guy can sure belt it out.
good on him!

Fleet Foxes

are the best so far - proper music, not some rubbish nonsense. :)
Caribou was OK too.

...

I wish they would show Atlas Sound.

Dirty Projectors on now.

They're brilliant.

im not really feeling this

what am missing about them that makes them brilliant

To me

The guitars sounds great, the vocals are godawful.

yeah im not a fan of his voice either

seems a bit too eager to try sound like panda bear but is coming across a bit will young, dont mind the female vocals though

Every so often

I try and give the DP's another go, I mean I love 'difficult' stuff like Trout Mask Replica.

I start off marvelling at their technical brilliance but by the 5 min mark I get too annoyed and have to turn it off. It's his voice mainly. Even Beyonce doesn't do that much warbling.

Ooh

Just realised Boris are on in a minute. This thread is my friend.

Whoa

That was quick. Not proper live then...

Ah.

I went to a festival like that once (Sesiwn Fawr in Dolgellau) where there were 2 stages pretty much next to each other so as one finished the other kicked off. Not a bad idea really.

i have never seen/heard boris before

they arent exactly what i expected

i guess this would be pretty loud irl

dude has a cool drumkit

They aren't blowing me away

I guess you have to be there. Not like the albums which sound loud no matter what volume you listen to them at. Bass sounds good for a live stream though.

They also do drone/doom stuff like Earth/Sunn 0)) but I guess that's not for a sunny Chicago afternoon. Pink is an amazing album, mostly of the punky stuff.

a lot of people i know like them

i had the impression theyd be more japanese noise or earth/sun o))) stuff as you say, wasnt rly expecting the japanese metal thing

still though, s'cool enough, i may investigate the albums

There's a bit of that kind of stuff on Pink too

Well worth a listen, the last track starts off in the metal vein and then bleeds into drone for the last 10 minutes, it's unbelievable. They are way better than Sunn 0)) at that kind of stuff IMO.

Just checked out the review of it on this site. Very P4k, as they say.

They have 'drone' albums and 'rock' albums

I like them in 'rock' mode best. It's not particularly original, but they do with quite some panache.

That said, At Last Feedbacker is pretty breathtaking....

they're fucking amazing

is there anyway of watching old performances? wish i could see the sebadoh.

they'll be up later this week probably.

This lot are so so tight. It's insane.
Fantastic Band.

I'm Really Bad At This Time Thing

Logged on at 9pm intending to watch Les Savy Fav, only to find they're at 10pm...

Ah well, Apples in Stereo are pretty good. I just know LSF are going to be amazing.

its 6hrs behind i think

apples in stereo are pretty fun live, although they seem to be playing the exact same set i saw them play a year ago hmmm

Yeah

Its six hours behind. I've been told this several times and still can't fucking get it right. Ah well, I'm just going to sit in front of my laptop until 3am.

Is there a guy on stage in a cape?

there certaily is

the last set starts at 3AM if that helps

YES!

he's playing keys and a maraca!

This has got to be

one of the most boring crowds I have ever seen.

everyone is just standing still and looking slightly confused.

hey

Apples In Stereo are watchable, I'm suprised.
Can't wait to see Les Savy Fav - I know that they pretend to be "cool", but I don't think so that they are. Let's see if this will change my mind. :P

les savy fav

that head mounted camera was been a bit hit and miss.

^

grammatically impregnable.

is this les savy favs last songh?

really wanna see dodos

No

Dodos will be on in around 40 minutes

fuck.

les savy fav sound a bit gash :/

DODOS ARE AMAZING

Red And Purple is my favourite song of the year. They're stunning. Much better and way more rocking than Les Savy Fav, who were fairly ordinary. Ordinary music and a big guy walking about WOW

Agree

Dodos are great!
Also I can agree about Les Savy Fav - it isn't nothing orginal if 1 "idiot" makes freaky "show" with special "effects", there wasn't anything musically in it.

Wow

The Dodos did seem pretty fucking great. Might give their album another spin...

Do it

They're a special band. The fact they made Les Savy Fav sound tame in comparison using only an acoustic guitar, voice and percussion proves this.

hmm

1 hour break now and then Spiritualized or they will perform now (confused, because checkings are going on):?

i guess

1 hour break then...
(yawn)

did anyone see animal collective?

was it amazing?

the sound's a bit shitty on that stream really.

i saw

like three songs and they looked fucking epic..

yeah they were pretty great

my connection died during peacebone though :(

so

spiritualized are on at 1am then? SWEET!

even sweeter

a clip of The National from '06 doing Looking for Astronauts... haha

Well spiritualised are on now

and Dinosaur Jr after, looks like its gonna be a late one

yeah

i got to bed at 4am last night so sleep is needed.

but Spiritualized doing the new stuff live just sounds so great. Still sounds as amazing as it did at Koko.

oh my

that crowd are going mental for Come Together

this is pretty awesome

i love spiritualized

it has been way too long since whence i last saw this band live

methinks, must see them somewhere soon

the best thing is

they'll now go into take me to the otherside hopefully

:D

good stuff

this is the first I've heard of this streaming.

I've missed out on a lot it seems

JP's voice

has got a lot stronger, using some nice vibrato. The jam at the end was gut as well, although his guitar remained suspiciously quiet throughout the set
