Ireland's Oxegen Festival filling out
Posted:
Further acts have been added to the bill for this year's Oxegen Festival, held at Punchestown Racecourse on July 8th and 9th.
Among the new additions are Editors and The Charlatans, while Pharrell Williams (pictured) will provide a little R&B slickness to counter the dour indie boys.
Also in line to appear are Eels, The Kooks, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and The Go! Team. The line up currently looks like this:
8th July: The Who, The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, James Brown, Richard Ashcroft, Primal Scream, Editors, Eels, The Magic Numbers, The Go! Team, David Morales, Timo Maas
9th July: Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Kaiser Chiefs, Paul Weller, Franz Ferdinand, Bell X1, Pharrell Williams, Sigur Ros, Manu Chao, Placebo, Damian Marley, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The Kooks, Felix Da Housecat, Erol Alkan
Tickets go on sale on March 3rd at 8am.

woah
felix da housecat.
-
god.
last year was waaaaaaaay better.
and i wish the RHCP would just fuck off and stop playing massive gigs in ireland.
-
that all looks a bit rubbish
dunnit?
-
yeah...... HMM.
there's a couple of good ones but all in all it's a bit of a bore really.
though BellX1.... yay!
-
I like Bell X1
However I expect that they would not be favoured by the DiS massive...
-
Does this bill look very much like the Wireless one, give or take a few bands
Or am I just hallucinating wildly?
-
are all large festival bills...
not utter guff to begin with?
they announce the 'names' to sell the tickets (although thats hardly tough these days) and then fill up the smaller stages from now till june/july. i'd expect all those artists will be on top 2 stages, except maybe some headliners for smaller tents.
give it time folks.also, eels and the go team bodes well for t in the park since these two usually have a similar line up.
-
and not wanting to be pedantic or owt
but it's EROL Alkan.
Lots of good bands in there though, shirley?
-
Is it just me
or does this line up currently look remarkably similar to T in the Park? At least headline and 'big name' wise.
-
no
I would love to go for Mr Marley alone.
