Murder City one-off: acclaimed (and rather defunct) punks announce show
Posted: 14 Jun '06, 12:57
Sadly, fellow Brits, it's in the US. But then you kinda expected that, right...
Nevertheless, news is news: Murder City Devils will re-form this summer for a one-off show in Seattle. The Capitol Hill Block Party is a two-day event taking place in the west coast city on July 28 and 29, and MCD are currently asking fans to suggest a set list via their MySpace site, here.
The festival is to celebrate not only music but also art and various progressive causes, and the line-up also includes Pretty Girls Make Graves, Big Business, Band Of Horses and Minus The Bear. More acts and further details will be announced on June 15. Yeah, tomorrow.
Members of Murder City Devils have been busy little bees since their split: drummer Coady Willis now plays in Big Business (and The Melvins!), bassist Derek Fudesco is a member of Pretty Girls Make Graves, and guitarist Dann Gallucci has worked with Modest Mouse. That considered, this really is likely to be a proper one-off reunion.

FUCK -
oh my fucking god
this would make me mess my pants!
-
I just got all this band's albums!
Dirt cheap from work!
Now I really wish I'd seen them when they played Reading.

They cancelled
that show...and the whole of their UK tour because of Leslie Hardy's wrist problem I think. I was massively MASSIVELY dissapointed. If anyone at DiS would like to pay for my flight, hotel, food, beer I will gladly go to Seattle and do a review.
SRSLY
